Tiara Thompson is a speedy guard who knows how to attack the gaps and find the open lanes getting to the rim. She can knock down a shot from deep as well as get her teammates involved making shifty moves to hit the pass right to her teammates’ hands. Her defense is top notch, too, being able to handle opposing guards with ease stripping the ball away and pushing it the other direction.
Jaida McClure has a strong shot from all around the arc, and she is a leader for her teams getting things going on the offensive side of the ball. She has a finesse with the ball getting to the rim finishing on both sides. Her IQ is apparent on the defensive side of the ball, too, jumping in front of passes to grab the steal.
Brianna Carelock has had a way of taking over games even at such a young age leading her reigning state championship team this season. She’s tough handling the ball, and she’s aggressive attacking the basket. She knows how to move and make adjustments to get a nice pass to her teammates or take the shot herself.
My’Asia Young has been very effective on both ends for Mallard Creek. She can handle anybody on the other end it seems even if she’s fronting a post down low or keeping a guard in front of her deflecting the ball away. Her quickness is apparent grabbing the ball and taking it coast to coast for solo fast breaks. She’s tough getting to the basket battling contact easily.
Sami Ward has a new school, and she is picking right up the way she knows how. She is crafty with her moves handling the ball getting by her opponents and showing off her IQ. She has a high motor attacking the paint being able to score off the glass or through her floaters. She can create her own space off the dribble or get the pass off her cuts to the basket.
