Johnson has long been a favorite of mine. I’ve been watching her play for the Trotters since middle school. She’s always had that special “energy” to her game that was hard to define….but you knew it when you saw it. Johnson has been on a TEAR recently with multiple double-doubles…and BIG TIME DOUBLE DOUBLES! She put up a 20 point, 22 rebound performance in a big win vs Central. And then she followed that up with breaking the Oak Ridge school record for rebounds in a game with 28 (read that once more: 28!) rebounds! Johnson battled injuries last season…but its safe to say that she is BACK!
Carmichael is just a winner. Simply watch her play….she blocks out the noise…she only focuses on winning. She couldn’t care any less about her stats or accolades, and when you do that…you play the right way….and you have a great skill set to combine with it….the stats will take care of themselves!
On a much improved Clinton HS team, Carmichael just keeps on doing it! She recently 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals in a huge win over Scott Co. And those are modest numbers for Carmichael after she continues to lead this much improved Lady Dragons squad after last year’s 16-15 record.
Vs Gibbs, Clinton won again advancing to 15-4, Carmichael finished with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Again….you see her fingerprints all over the stat sheet.
Midway continues to have a terrific season, and Cawood has been their best player all year. In a 2-0 week, she averaged 15.5 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 assists. Cawood’s ability to lead her team as a diverse and dynamic offensive player has been a big time spark for Midway. Cawood’s quiet consistency sets the tone for her squad, and they follow her lead.

Armes is a kid that is a true 3 and D player. Defensively, her length has made her a nightmare this season! She’s a 6’0 wing with nice athletcism, a nice stroke from 3, and great defensive instincts. She’s averaging 2.5 blocks and 3.5 deflections per game. She is a menace on the defensive end, and deadly if you leave her open.

Knox Webb is beginning to play their best basketball of the season, and they have picked up some huge wins over the past few weeks. They picked up another this weekend vs a very good. Taylor, just a freshman, is also beginning to hit her stride, as she poured in 20 points (on 7-14 from the floor) vs Langston Hughes. If Taylor can be a consistent secondary scorer, it raises the ceiling for this team tremendously.

Redd is a STUD! The ’25 forward is putting the skill aspect together with her natural athleticism, and is playing the best ball of her life! In a win over Baylor last week, she had 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. She’s a strong bodied wing that thrives defensively, battles on the glass, and is really turning into a dynamic playmaker offensively. In a win vs Barlett, Redd had 5 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and block. Redd is a winner, and she gives her team exactly what they need. This Knox Catholic team just keeps getting and better.

Walker is yet another piece on the Knox Catholic squad that is playing fantastics basketball. She’s a knockdown shooter (over 40%), and on this team–that’s her role. She’s got a great knack for finding the soft softs in the D, moving off the ball, and having her hands and feet ready to let the three-ball fly. She’s gritty, tough, and defends hard. When she get’s hot, she’s a tremendous weapon….and Knox Catholic has a lot of weapons!
Porter has been tremendous all season long. I had no idea she was such a talented offensive player, and she hasn’t taken her foot off the gas. Porter finished with 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists in a huge win over Karns. She also had 30 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steal performance in a big win over Halls. This Oak Ridge team looks really scary on both ends of the ball (especially with Jenna Johnson Jenna Johnson 5’11” | C Oak Ridge | 2025 State TN beginning to look like one of the best forwards in the state).
Moore is smooth ’27 guard for Tennessee HS. She’s been able to come in carve out a role on an upstart Tennessee HS team as a playmaking guard that can also knock down open shots. She’s naturally gifted at getting to her spots, and looks to gave the physical gifts to become a really good player down the road. TN HS has a few really good younger players that I’m looking forward to watching grow, and Moore is one of them!
Gamble is one of those quiet players that simply don’t get the pub, in large part, because they don’t seek it. She’s legit good, and helping Clinton to a 15-4 record. She’s been rock solid all season long, and shines in the trenches where the box score often doesn’t show up. In their most recent win vs Gibbs County, she finished with 8 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Her assists numbers have been phenomanal all year long, and she really leads her troops like a you’d wish from your PG. Clinton has a great ’26 duo.
Wilson, and her teammate Ellie Linx Ellie Linx 5’8″ | SG Lakeway Christian | 2024 State TN , put up a combined 45 points in a win over Providence. Wilson (30) and Linx (15) were both at their season averages….and that get them to 45 team points. Add freshman Kayla Underwood Kayla Underwood 5’10” | SG Lakeway Christian Academy | 2027 TN ‘s 7 points and your at 52 team points. This Lakeway team has the talent to be really dangerous if they will get stops consistently. This team can fill it up!

Bryan continued her tear of late for Lincoln County as she went for 24 points and 8 rebounds (with four made threes) in a win over Springhill. This is after scoring 25 points and pulling 8 boards in a 59-55 win over a good Columbia Central team. Bryan’s excellence as two way player that also makes an impact doing the dirty work is really starting to get noticed around the state.
