Continue ReadingAlthough Bakers year didn’t go as planned, she was still able to maintain her offensive presence for her team. With 15.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. This season was asked to lead a young unexperienced team into the postseason. Something that was new to her, but she made do. So much so they next year go from prey to predator, as Highlands will be one of the state’s top teams to beat.
Highlights
Campbell is no stranger to putting the team on her back and carrying them a win, she’s done it time and time again. This season she led her Fruita Monument team to an 11th seed and home court advantage for the first two rounds of the tournament. Despite her team’s success this year I know she is in a hurry for more and will work this summer to improve her game.
Highlights
A lot of what makes Iliana Greene Iliana Greene 5’5″ | PG Regis Jesuit | 2025 State CO a great player, most people don’t get see. Her Regis Jesuit team was stacked with a lot of talent, which kind of put her in a spot up shooting situations instead of the traditional point guard role she is used to playing. Having seen her in an open setting she is a true point guard that can has a crafty handle in transition and is always looking to make the right play.
The heart and soul of the Pine Creek offense is LeeKaya with her high energy play. She manages to spark the offense at the right time every game giving them the boost needed to win those crucial games. Combining that with her hard-nosed in your face mentality on the defensive end of the floor, she is a guard people love to play with.
The growth we’ve seen in Eianna Jackson Eianna Jackson 5’8″ | PG Vista PEAK | 2025 State CO ‘s game over the last couple years has been insane, she has learned to use her athleticism to her advantage, and it has made all the difference. Being a bigger guard, she can see over the top of the defense, giving her clear lanes to attack. This season she was a more productive shooter off the dribble. Which caught a lot of teams off guard.
Northfields guard came out swing this season under new leadership. The confidence Aliyah Herron Aliyah Herron 5’8″ | PG Northfield | 2025 State CO had this year was exciting to see. She is able to do a little bit of everything offensively knocking down open looks, putting the ball in the ground and getting to the rim, even exploding mismatches. Defensively she never backed down from a challenge and had no problem getting her hands dirty.
Highlights
Legend had a high a power offense to where every player was a threat to score. With that they needed somebody to lead the charge, which is where Grace Stanley Grace Stanley 5’4″ | PG Legend | 2025 State CO came in. In the midst of it all she became the most important piece. Her ability to control the pace of the game with all while still keeping everyone involved was what you look for in a point guard.
In a new role at a new school Alyssa Ramos Alyssa Ramos 5’1″ | PG Doherty | 2025 State CO had a lot of learning to do on the fly but she was able to come in and make an immediate impact for Mark Jones and his Doherty squad. Relying on what she is already good at, Alyssa was a pesky defender that created secondary opportunities for her team as well as crashing the glass better than any other little guard in the state.
Highlights
There aren’t many players more underrated than Neveah Lucero of Skyview. She has impacted winning every year for her team. Whether it’s putting the ball in the basket in a variety of ways or locking up on defense. There aren’t many things she can’t do on the court.
