This past weekend we had over 35 prospects from the states of Iowa and Nebraska, come out to attended our Fall Showcase in Des Moines on Saturday evening. Throughout the day, players did a little bit of everything as they tested their skills and showed out for anyone watching. In this article, we highlight the Top Five players of the day and we dive into their play-styles a little bit, as well as their future situation for their upcoming high school seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='1044957' first='Paige' last='Andernacht'] always grabs the attention of anyone who is watching, when she is doing her thing on the hardwood and that was the case once again this past weekend during this event. She demonstrated her smooth ability on offense to physically control the inside of the paint, while being a thorough scorer and rebounder. Defensively, she was coming from help side and getting stops, she was walling up against taller opponents and holding her own, and she was being a vocal leader during most moments as well. It'll be interesting to see how many Varsity minutes she gets this Winter at Johnston but I'm sure she is willing to take any opportunity to learn and grow as a prospect. As for this event specifically, she was definitely a top five prospect on the day.

From watching [player_tooltip player_id='1044930' first='Baileigh' last='Uthoff'] compete last year and then watching her compete again this past Saturday, it's pretty easy to say that she has taken massive strides in her game on both ends of the floor. Last year, I wasn't really sure what Uthoff did for her team or where she fit in but that has changed quite quickly. Now she is a vocal leader, a determined driver and facilitator of the basketball, and she is really good at making the right play for her team in one way or another. I was really blown away by her performances during this Showcase not only because she was she killing it, but because she was killing it, every single game, no matter the competition level across from her. At Valley High School this Winter, they are going to have some impressive young underclassman in their mix and Uthoff should be in that conversation.

Marion High School has a baller on their hands with CG, [player_tooltip player_id='1044941' first='Harlow' last='Griffin']. Griffin takes the floor right at 5'11 and she is versatile enough to be able to move around the court to a number of different positions. With her natural size and her ability to attack off the dribble or pull up to shoot, she is a handful for anyone to matchup with. That was the case this weekend and I'm hoping that is the case moving into this Winter season. Griffin stood out to all the collegiate coaches that we had in attendance and that speaks to what her future possibilities might hold. She took the floor as a Freshman last season with the Wolves and this time around, she is looking to build on that. Something that is very do-able.

I've been a fan of [player_tooltip player_id='1044933' first='Claire' last='Storhoff'] and her play-style for a few years now. Storhoff is a crafty play-maker, that always seems to be in the right spot, at the right time. She is pretty quick in all of her movements and she has some solid athletic ability to pair with that. Once she gets her defender going down-hill, it's really hard for them to react and recover, usually leading to some buckets in a number of different ways for Storhoff or her open teammates. All of this was on full display this weekend, as she helped lead her team's to several different victories. This Winter at Decorah High School, she is going to have a chance to take the State by storm once again. If she plays like she did on Saturday and she stays motivated, she is going to be a hot commodity when it comes to recruitment out of Iowa in the near future.

[player_tooltip player_id='1044961' first='Samantha' last='Dorrity'] would be a Day 1 starter at 90% of high schools in Iowa but I'm not sure if that will be the case for her at Xavier. Dorrity looks and plays the part of being a vital piece to whichever team she is competing with. Taking into consideration that she is only a 2028 prospect, she already stands at 5'11, and the skill part of her game is up-to-date with her size, you start to realize that her future possibilities will be high by the time that she gets to being an upperclassmen. During our event, Dorrity made her presence known in one way or another out on the court. She was either handling her matchup on the defensive end with ease or she was taking it to the rim for an easy bucket on offense, every chance she could get. All in all, she did a little bit of everything throughout the day and she stood out over most others while doing so.
