The Wichita Area’s All-Class, 2024, Top 10

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With the releases of the fall rankings updates and the 2028 class watch list completed it is time to take a step back and revisit the Wichita area's all-class top ten. In the year since the&nbsp;<a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/2023/10/the-wichita-areas-all-class-2023-top-10/">last update</a>&nbsp;many new faces have stepped in. Graduation removed seven members, all of which are playing college basketball this fall. For the three returners, a substantial amount of talent has developed in the past year to challenge for a top ten spot. She is a returning KBCA and Sports In Kansas second team and KSHSAACovered third team selection. Green also earned Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division II first team honors. In the 5A third place game to end her 2024 season she logged a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. I have watched her game grow her beginning with her first two high school seasons in Hutchinson and she has turned into what my colleague Simmie Colson described her as, a beast. While a commitment is unannounced she is expected to sign with a major Division I program. All she did was pick up Sports In Kansas first team 6A, KBCA and KSHSAA second team and Greater Wichita Area League first team honors will starting for the Falcons at the 6A state tournament. I have been following Ellis since her days at Sunrise Christian Academy and she can flat light up from the perimeter. She holds offers from NCAA and NJCAA Division I programs. A first team Greater Wichita Area League and Varsity Kansas 6A honorable mention selection at Wichita Northwest in 2023 she was inexplicably left off the 2024 honor roll completely. Granted she missed a good chunk of the season, but against Washburn Rural in the 6A state quarterfinals she played quality minutes was a major interior defensive presence despite only being at maybe 65%. She has attracted offers from Division I and II programs as well as strong NJCAA Division I programs. A very high IQ and diversified floor general, Barber moves up a spot from the 2023 Wichita area all-class top 10 . She was part a 6A fourth place team that won the most exciting game of the tournament over Shawnee Mission Northwest. Earning Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division I first team honors she was also selected to KSHSAACovered and Sports In Kansas second team and KBCA 6A third team teams. Askew is a fluid, smart and athletic talent with an inside-out game that makes her a difficult match-up problem. Fast forward through the Fire's season she was selected to the The League's finals all-tournament team following the league's first season. Over the summer she played with a Missouri Phenom EYC team. Szabo was a National Athletic Association for Independent Schools all-league and finals all-tournament selection. A terrific shooter with a calm, deceptive floor presence who holds an offer from Wichita State. A quick, smooth stroke highlights her shooting; quick hands defensively; and smarts and speed in her transition play. Over the summer she represented Mexico on their <a href="https://www.fiba.basketball/en/player/319490/Ariadna-Vidales">FIBA</a> AmeriCup U18 National Team. She also represented at NBA Without Borders in Brazil. Fidales holds a handful of Division I offers. Selected honorable mention by the Greater Wichita Area League. A fast, extremely heady and diversified talent McCorry is a dangerous perimeter shooter. As she continues to push her ceiling higher power 5 schools need to come calling. A post with a terrific build, speed, hops, strength and shot blocking ability her offensive game exploded over the summer. She has shoved her ceiling much higher as a result. In the hoops department she is also an absolute force. With uncommon dexterity at the center position Herrman combines solid speed and quickness on the rebound and to jump passing lanes. She also has solid handles. Around the hoop, she is practically unstoppable. The two-time Ark Valley Chisholm Trail Division IV selection is shockingly unknown statewide and is an easy Division II caliber talent.
