The 5'10 combo guard currently leads the state in scoring with 31.4 points per game. Maggie is a great kid and a high character player. Even though she is having a lot of individual success this season, her team playing well and winning games is what's most important to her. I watched her game against Bracken County last week and what stood out to is how dynamic she is in the open floor and how good she is at finding driving lanes to attack. She is also much better at finishing through contact and has improved as a 3-point shooter. Maggie's potential is undeniable and she is taking her game to new heights. Star guard [player_tooltip player_id='903187' first='Shelby' last='Byrd'] has been a major contributor averaging a team-leading 14 points a game. Shelby has a a well-rounded game and she competes hard on both ends of the floor. Offensively, she picks her spots well and never really forces anything. Her versatility on defense works wonders for team. Sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='913410' first='Alyssa' last='Arlinghaus'] has been a major piece of the puzzle, averaging 10.8 points a game for the Indians. Alyssa has a calm, cool, and collected approach. She plays with poise and doesn't let defenders speed her up very often; the type of PG that stays levelheaded and makes the right decisions with the ball. Alyssa has the total package. She can score at all three levels, facilitate the rock, and has proven to be a reliable defender. The 5'10 forward is averaging 11.6 ppg and a team-leading 12.6 rpg. She provides a physical presence in the post and she uses her size plus strength to bully through defenders and convert at the rim. Amauri is a rebounding machine who she makes the most of her put back opportunities and gives her team a lot of extra possessions. The do-it-all guard is one of the states leading scorers, averaging 23.6 ppg. Avery is a talented bucket-getter who shoots the ball efficiently from the field and from beyond the arc. Piper is a ballhawk defender and a lights out 3-point shooter with unlimited range. She has a really high motor and never takes plays off. Piper looks much improved as a passer this season, and she understands that getting her teammates involved opens up her game even more.
