[player_tooltip player_id='833952' first='Avery' last='Banks'] will return to Van Meter for her Junior year as their starring PG. This is not a new position for Banks and company. She has been the player to lead with the ball in her possession ever since she was a freshman, putting up some competitive numbers over the years. Banks has a quick but strong game with the rock. She is a creator and facilitator over other things, while being someone who can go get a bucket in the blink of an eye. Van Meter's success falls on a few things but most importantly, it's going to come down to how much Banks can produce on both ends of the floor.

Norwalk is going to have a different looking lineup this Winter but they should still put up some pretty impressive outings. Someone for their supporting cast last Winter, that will be looking for even more opportunity this time around is [player_tooltip player_id='993994' first='Keragan' last='Van Zante'] at the Guard position. Van Zante is an active participant on both sides of the ball. She has active hands, natural instincts to jump towards the basketball, along with some athletic ability and fast reflexes. If Norwalk returns once again with a plan for destruction, they should be back at the State Tournament at the state of 2026 before you know it.

Ankeny will be a program throughout Iowa this Winter that will have a lot of opportunity available that their Varsity level. They change coaching staffs and they lose their main three producers from years past. Meaning that anyone who can show their worth early on to their new staff, might be able to steal a few minutes and make the most of them for the foreseeable future. Someone that should be constant in this groups production category over the next eight months is [player_tooltip player_id='1044947' first='Kyla' last='Schaapveld']. Schaapveld recently grabbed a D3 offer from Coe out of Cedar Rapids. Coe is one of the more impressive D3's within their conference as of late. They are winning a lot of games and building quite the culture so to receive an offer from here is noteworthy. In Schaapveld's game she can score at a solid rate off the catch of dribble by getting all the way to the bucket, she is always willing to hit other teammates around her that around open, and she also holds her own in the categories of rebounding and defending. All in all, I'm excited to see what she can put together.

There is a lot of interest lately for [player_tooltip player_id='595155' first='Hailey' last='Kipp'] at the Division-2 level. Recently Kipp grabbed two offers, one from Quincy in Illinois & Upper Iowa. I'm not sure which Kipp will end up coming to but these are two solid options for her 6'0 PF, looking towards the next level. Kipp played her last AAU season with her [program_tooltip program_id='715980' first='Team' last='Iowa'] program out of Cedar Rapids, showing her worthy each time she took the floor over the past six months. With the right determination and guidance at the next level, who knows what she could become in her basketball future.

A mismatch nightmare for a lot of others is SF - [player_tooltip player_id='834563' first='Hayden' last='McLaughlin'] of Algona High School. The past couple of seasons, when Algona wins, McLaughlin usually has an impressive outing. That is not always the case but the two have gone hand-in-hand for awhile now and that should be the case even more during her next two years at the Varsity level. Lengthy, durability, touch, coordinated balance, a willingness to get physical. There are just a few of the reasons that McLaughlin has nice showings throughout the Winter season. It's hard for others to matchup with her within their system and I'm hoping that's the case for another go around this upcoming season.
