Underrated Female Athletes Making Waves in Basketball

A lot of these players are young ladies that I have seen in various settings who go to work on the court. Unsure why they are overlooked, however, when they perform, you can see how they contribute or impact the game in more ways than one.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Everyone has their niche, per se. Something they excel at and bring value to their club. I went about and uncovered some kids who some may or may not know about. She has a quick first step on the offensive end, where she attacks downhill and challenges opponents on her way to the rim. I love how she brings the physicality as she bumps and possesses the ball as she darts through traffic. On the defensive end, she is going to compete and turn her opponent the full length of the floor. As you can tell, this kid is fast, plays with tons of speed, but what you also see is the passion she plays with. She can play with the ball or off the ball, but her contributions are felt throughout. She has a solid 3-ball she will unleash, utilize her speed to get to the cup, but what I love about her most is that she isn't afraid to work downlow. She rebounds, gets to the rim finishing off two; she just knows how to use her body in tight spaces. She is also a defensive stopper, getting tons of steals and deflections. She has nice handles, can shoot the 3-ball consistently, and can get to the rim. She is a selfless player, and anytime she attracts two while attacking, she will kick out and hit the open player for a 3. She is a tough competitor who is willing to go toe to toe with anyone. Her game has grown over the years, and you can just tell she is playing with such confidence. I love her ability to come off screens, read/ get a feel for the situation, then exploit what is giving. She can dial it up from 3, curl into a jumper, or use her momentum to deliver a timely pass either to the low block player or the open perimeter player on the other side. She competes on the defensive end and contributes on the boards. She brings energy and effort to the Lady Irish program and is just sold all around. This young lady has a nice stroke from the field, where she will knock down a 3 or exploit the mid-range. She competes on the boards, does the extra effort things to gain possessions. My point, she isn't afraid to sacrifice herself for the good of the team. She isn't afraid to take on the tough assignment and go to work. It's not about scoring all the time with this young lady, as she is willing to do whatever it takes to help her ball club win. Yes, she scores, but look for her to impact the game in multiple ways.
