[player_tooltip player_id='777226' first='Maryn' last='Franken'] had quite a few offers before she ended up committing to the Jackrabbits. This earlier commitment is a smart one by Franken. It's taken a lot of pressure off of her plate, knowing that she has her future locked in. When it comes to Franken as a player on the hardwood, she is versatile as a 6'0 SF. Offensively, she can post with size when she has that advantage or she can work off of the mid-post from about 15FT out. Defensively, she can guard 2-5 at the Varsity level at this time. That will tighten up a little bit in college as she won't usually be able to matchup with a true Post over 6'2/6'3 but that shouldn't be a problem. As for now, Franken is looking to put together another high school season to remember. She won't be the only returning player to her team's Varsity roster from year's past so we will have to see how everyone comes back over these next few months.

One of the most automatic shooters that this 2027 Class possesses is [player_tooltip player_id='677842' first='Tylee' last='Weite'] of DSM - Valley High School. Weite has a sniper from deep when she lets the rock go off of the catch but that's been obvious for a few years now. Every time she lets her shot go, her form looks picture perfect and the shot always seems to have a chance of going in. I expect Weite to be a Division-1 commit at the end of the day. She already holds a few offers from that level and she is going to have a lot more opportunity this Winter to show off what she can really do on both sides of the ball. Until then, Weite will hold onto the #7 spot in this Update.

We should see another side to [player_tooltip player_id='764451' first='Macey' last='O'Brien'] and her game over the next eight months at the high school level within her new program at Hudson High School. O'Brien will have some room to breathe throughout this season compared to years past. She will have others around her that can play, so now opposing programs won't be able to just focus on her. This will give her more space, more time to react, and more support within her team's systems. If something happens to break down, O'Brien will still be looked upon to save the day but it won't be their only option. All in all, this Winter is one in which O'Brien needs to prove that she is D1 material across the board. If she takes care of business per usual, that shouldn't be a problem but only time will tell.

The Winter ahead is going to be a telling one for prospects like [player_tooltip player_id='686893' first='Cassidy' last='Danburg']. Coming off of a successful Sophomore season, Danburg is ready to show her dominance by taking over the state at the Forward position. If you have been paying attention, Danburg held her own last Winter against the best Post players throughout Iowa. (Some of which are D1 committed hoopers going to P4 college programs.) If she comes back more motivated than last time around, Danburg will have a chance to shine and her team will have a chance to win the 5A State Title this time around. She is very talented at 6'2 and that will be vital in the grand scheme of things these next few seasons.

When you look back at things in a few years, you are going to realize that [player_tooltip player_id='833966' first='Lizzy' last='Frazell'] might be the most skilled #10 ranked player of any Class in the history of the state. Frazell is a D1 talent, she just doesn't have a bunch of video or highlights out there. She does everything simple REALLY well and she possesses a great mixture of height, athletic ability, and skill. She currently holds one D1 offer at this time but that number should grow. If she can get seen by the right set of eyes over the next twelve months, she should possess a handful of offers before she ends up committing later down the line.
