PGH Freshman Showcase: Team 3 Evaluations

The 2029 Indiana Freshman Showcase featured 55+ prospects on September 6th, 2025. Our format included 4 hours of games split up into predetermined 3v3 and 5v5 matchups. Let's talk about media exposure. There have been thousands of views on X of coverage provided by our scouts during the event, and our articles will be read by hundreds. Every participant will receive a write-up in our articles, which is a unique and special quality of the Prep Girls Hoops showcases. We prioritize covering everyone. My coverage focused primarily on teams 3, 4, and 5. As a scout who primarily covers Michigan, seeing Indiana's top prospects for the first time was truly exciting! Here are a few highlights for each player from Team 3 below!    Hope had a productive day for Team 3 at the Freshman Showcase. Hope moved well without the ball, making smart backdoor cuts to create open passing windows. She showed off some fancy footwork inside, creating space using a reverse pivot to score a contested layup. Hope was aggressive on both sides of the ball. She created steals and pursued rebounds with determination.     Rachel played with high energy and effort for Team 3 at the Freshman Showcase. She froze her defender with a shot fake and accelerated with a quick dribble for the layup. Rachel scored an offensive rebound putback, and chased down multiple offensive boards. She finished a tough left-handed layup and one off two feet and sprinted up the court for a catch and finish layup off two. Rachel anticipated a pass to grab a steal, reached in to deflect the ball, and took it the other way for a fast break bucket. Rachel had active hands on defense and used a sweet high pick-up move to cause a foul on a drive. She's a two-way guard who makes a difference on the court.     Paige is an explosive guard, and she made her presence felt on both ends of the court for Team 3 at the Freshman Showcase. Her athleticism, pesky defense, and dynamic skills on offense grabbed my attention. Paige buried a smooth triple in the slot off a crossover dribble and buried another off the catch. She showed off her speed in transition, turning on the jets to score many transition layups. She exploded downhill to score a left-handed layup off two feet and cut backdoor to score another layup off two. Paige consistently penetrated the defense with her dribble. Paige threw strong passes to open teammates, including an unselfish shovel pass to give a teammate an easy bunny. Paige created many steals on the defensive end. One of her wow moments came when she sprinted over from the help side to block a shot with authority. Paige earned recognition as a Top Performer and was one of the most impactful two-way players.     Heavynne was extremely impactful on both ends for Team 3 at the Freshman Showcase, and she earned Top Performer honors as a result. Her ability to penetrate gaps with an explosive first step kept defenders on their heels. Heavynne was an excellent facilitator, and I liked her decision-making. She got to the second level, and as defenders committed to her dribble, she kicked the ball to open shooters. Heavynne swiped the ball away and took it the other way for two points. She secured an offensive rebound and scored the put-back. Heavynne changed hands quickly and earned trips to the free-throw line by driving hard to the basket. She blew by a defender with a burst down the baseline and finished with a layup off the glass.     Fiona gave Team 3 a spark with her multidimensional impact on the court at the Freshman Showcase. She caught an entry pass with soft hands and used an excellent counter-pivot move to score a layup. Fiona worked hard inside to secure offensive rebounds and converted a put-back. She drove hard off the dribble to cause fouls and made a quick transfer to finish a layup with touch in transition.     Mackenzie had a productive day for Team 3 at the Freshman Showcase. She covered ground quickly with her long pushout dribbles in transition and delivered a perfect bounce assist to a teammate. Mackenzie drove the length of the court to score a tough, contested layup in top gear. She caught a pass clean and tacked on the finish.     Savayah was impressive in every facet of the game for Team 3 at the Freshman Showcase. The first play that pointed to her next-level talent was a speedy drive from the corner with a side-step layup finish. She stepped into a smooth triple from the slot and buried confident mid-range pull-ups in bunches. Savayah pursued rebounds on both ends and cleaned up around the basket, scoring put-backs. She swiped the ball away with her quick hands on defense and blocked shots. Savayah penetrated gaps with her explosive drives, finishing many layups and floaters with a soft touch. She buried triples up top off the catch and the dribble. Savayah dished out assists and fired passes up the court in transition. One of my favorite finishes from Savayah was a rock-the-baby left-handed scoop finish off the glass. She scored many bunnies off two feet throughout the day. Her athleticism, three-level scoring, pure shooting, court vision, determined rebounding, lockdown defense, and complete dominance earned recognition as a Top Performer in addition to my 2025 Freshman Showcase MVP.     Morgan used her length and effort to make an impact for Team 3 at the Freshman Showcase. She moved her feet well to keep the ball contained on defense and worked hard to secure rebounds. Morgan switched hands confidently with a crossover to create space to drive and sprinted out in transition, catching the pass and scoring a stretch layup in top gear. She talked on defense, played aggressively, and hit the deck to compete for 50/50 balls.     Zoey used her length and strength to give Team 3 an edge in the paint at the Freshman Showcase. She muscled her way into position and scored many offensive rebound put-backs off two feet. Zoey showed her fancy footwork after grabbing another offensive rebound, using an effective pivot to create space from the defender, and finished the layup off two.
