The Top 10 Talent is All Over

Often in Oklahoma the top tier talent is condensed in the OKC Metro and Tulsa. This class though has star power spread out with half of the top prospects currently hooping outside the two main metro areas. Including a pair of elite hoopers in southeast Oklahoma, Broken Bow's [player_tooltip player_id='866548' first='Jaylen' last='Cauthron'] and [player_tooltip player_id='881182' first='Tyson' last='Woolsey']. An eastern Oklahoma sharpshooter, in [player_tooltip player_id='593920' first='Ryanne' last='Nelke'] (Roland). Two of the most versatile prospects are in northeastern Oklahoma with [player_tooltip player_id='593784' first='Olivia' last='Stokes'] (Locust Grove) and [player_tooltip player_id='751190' first='Kashae' last='Brown'] (Muskogee). It gives this class a different flavor and makes the trips to watch games all the more interesting this upcoming season.

Especially as two of the top Oklahoma prospects both play a national schedule for GRIND Prep. [player_tooltip player_id='881525' first='DeAndra' last='Minor'] has been a long time star in Oklahoma, as a 6 foot 1 athleticly gifted and skilled scoring guard. Her play has long been recognized as a top 20 player in the class by national outlets. She has a new running mate at GRIND Prep, with [player_tooltip player_id='613423' first='Jayla' last='Jackson'] moving to Oklahoma from Michigan. Highlights, stats and the write ups from other PGH contributors paint the picture of a super productive and skilled guard. Minor and Jackson may often play a national schedule, but through streaming and local games, they will be exciting watches for the PGH team.

One big thing about the Class of 2027 is literal. As in the height. There's a great group of young ladies holding down the paint in the Class of 2027, with size being one of this class' biggest strengths. Here's four at the top.

An injury has been a slight speed bump for Hill's career, but she's made her return at the least to the volleyball court. And her return to the basketball court should soon follow. She'll anchor an Owasso squad that has an exciting mix of sophomores and seniors. As evident by her being a two sport star, Hill is a heck of an athlete. She's a blue collar worker around the rim as a rebounder. Before her injury, Hill was expanding her all around game. Including her jumper, her handles and passing. It will be fascinating to see how Hill bounces back for a pivotal junior season and then one final run in AAU.

A prototypical stretch forward, Radinovic has been super productive through two years of Class 6A varsity play. She can be a force around the basket, but she's more than just a back to the basket prospect. Mobility and shooting add extra dimensions to her game. Is agile while moving without the ball, from cutting to the rim, popping out for threes and covering ground on defense. Oral Roberts and Abilene Christian have offered, which should only be the tip of the iceberg.

Woolsey is a force on the block, as an efficient and smart scorer. Has outstanding touch from 8 feet and in, capable of scoring with either hand. And is smart with the ball, passing out of doubles with good vision and feel. To complete her productive ways, she rebounds with an "every board is mine" mindset. Which ends possessions and creates her fair share of second chance points on offense. After a couple strong years in Southeastern Oklahoma, Woolsey and the Lady Savages should be ready to make a State Tournament push in the always rugged Class 4A.

Height can't be taught and Sims is currently the tallest prospect scouted in the Class of 2027. She first caught the eye as a freshman playing a rugged national schedule with GRIND Prep. Then she transferred to Newcastle, helping to anchor a 4A State Tournament run for the Lady Racers. Sims can be a beast on the glass. During AAU play her height and rebounding caught the attention of Missouri, Kennesaw State, South Alabama and more programs. It was clearly a productive AAU season for Sims. Now she'll look to take her game to new levels for a Newcastle team with State Championship aspirations.

Excitement is often the most common way to describe Cauthron. As she's a blast to watch with her quickness, speeds, handles, vision and scoring ability. But to only consider her exciting, would be short selling her on her grit. She is unafraid to get her nose dirty on the defensive end. Hustles hard for charges and plays with an edge. The edge and quick hands also help help rack up steals and even the occasional block. One of the most complete guards in the state and it's shocking that her recruitment hasn't picked up more since an offer from Abilene Christian in April of 2024.

Gibson is a great example of heart over height. Plays the game with tremendous energy on both ends of the court. Hits momentum shifting threes. And really shines on defense. Smart and aggressive while in full court press. While also a complete pest on the ball in the halfcourt. She'll rip any loose handles and immediately take it the other way. Now has the full reigns for the Lady Warriors program that has moved up to Class 5A this season, and are more than capable of making a State Tournament run.
