The Simpson Storm locked in another 2026 prospect out of Iowa this past week with the commitment of Forward - [player_tooltip player_id='595154' first='Brenna' last='Johnson'] of Westwood High School. Johnson is Westwood's force to be reckoned with in the painted area. She primarily navigates between the blocks on both offense and defense, usually producing in several different ways. Offensively, she is skilled with a strong move with her back to the basket on either side of the floor. She can go through weaker opponents, over smaller opponents, or around any other type of opponent with her counter moves. Defensively, she is someone that comes hard from help-side whenever she might be out of the play to show one last line of defense but most of the time, she is right in the middle of the action in the middle of the paint. Johnson could grow into a big role with the Storm over the next few years. She just needs to find her place within the program early on and the rest could be history.

The Doane Tigers are slowly creeping into other states when it pertains to collegiate recruitment. Last week the Tigers locked in one of their first 2026 commits in [player_tooltip player_id='782232' first='Lena' last='Evans']. Evans competes out of the Iowa City Area for the CCA Clippers and she has been pretty underrated her entire career. Evans is going to be the driving force for the Clippers this Winter as a Senior with [player_tooltip player_id='509225' first='Averie' last='Lower']. This group goes as far as these two hoopers can take them and they are both well aware of that fact. As a prospect, Evans is a coordinated SG with some crafty abilities once she gets into the teeth of the defense. She is the definition of a scrappy competitor, while still being fairly skilled in most facets of the game. All in all, I see Evans having a respectable career at the next level. Within the right system and with the right confidence, she is going to be able to take her game to places she has never thought of before. That's for sure.

Northwestern locked in a pair of 2026 prospects this past month. Their first being [player_tooltip player_id='560332' first='Avery' last='DeHaan'] of Storm Lake High School. DeHaan, a 5'10 CG, is versatile on the high school floor at the moment as a guard. She moves between the 2 and the 3 spot, sometimes even moving to the 4 position when called upon. In college, with her natural size and ability DeHaan should stay in her natural position of the 2 or 3. That will help her early on in her career find her role within the program, ultimately giving her some playing time before you know it!

The second prospect that Northwestern has recently locked in out of this Class is [player_tooltip player_id='766450' first='Deni' last='Katcher'] of CPU High School and [program_tooltip program_id='715980' first='Team' last='Iowa'] AAU out of Cedar Rapids. The best part about Katcher's game is that you know what you are going to get each time she takes the floor as a SG. She isn't going to surprise you or become a random liability out of no where. She plays her own game to a T and that helps her see productivity on both sides of the ball. This is another prospect that should keep her natural role when she does get to the collegiate level. She should stick to being a SG but we will just have to wait and see.

Another day, another D1 offer from [player_tooltip player_id='920716' first='Bentley' last='Dill'] of CR - Kennedy High School. Dill is starting off this month of October the same way that she ended the Summer AAU season and that is on top with a ton of momentum as she moves into her Sophomore campaign with the Cougars. Dill is can light the nets on fire with her shooting ability, she can handle as a solid rate to be able to create for those around her, and she also checks off a lot of boxes in the rebounding and defending departments as well. We have to see what Dill can put together this go-around but she is sure to have a lot of opportunity over the rest of her high school career. She is going to be their top dawg and main producer so if she can play her game and others can chip in her around her, watch out cause CR Kennedy might go some places come Playoff time!
