Sunday, October 12th I attended John Millyard's annual Southern Arizona Showcase. It is a great way to see many prospects from Tucson in just one day at one gym.

I watched a couple of the games plus took in the Top-20 Game.

Here were 15 of the Southern Arizona Showcase Standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='1197321' first='Sabrina' last='Wexler'] Rincon (Pictured)

A good sized wing forward is a knockdown three point shooter with range and a quick trigger. She has one of the shooting strokes that look good on every attempt. She rebounds well in and out of her area and plays the right way. She earned the Top-20 MVP for her overall play.

[player_tooltip player_id='1196511' first='Asia' last='Clark'] Pueblo

Another bigger wing forward is a great shooter and sees the court with next level court vision. She pounds the rock a little differently than most girls. She can create separation from her defenders and then get her shot off. She will rebound in her area and also make a play.

[player_tooltip player_id='836774' first='Esabella' last='Barajas'] Sunnyside

An all-around player plays the game like a point forward. She can literally play the 1-3 for her team and is a good passer. She plays with a good pace to the game and loves using the pick and roll action to her advantage. She will hit the three, rebound and even take a charge.

[player_tooltip player_id='788336' first='Ylena' last='Gross'] Sahuaro

One of the top pure point guards in attendance. She has a shifty handle and the ball is on a string for her. She has speed to burn to get downhill to score with tough layups and will hit the three but she is a next level passer with some needle threaders in every game played.

[player_tooltip player_id='1140907' first='Ceraya' last='Grace Bandy'] Mica Mountain

A scoring guard with a little size. She is a quick guard in the open court with a nice crossover into a layup and often uses runners. She will run the floor with some speed and will hit the three off the catch or pull. She is active on defense with quicker hands and feet.

[player_tooltip player_id='772666' first='Kayanna' last='Chief'] Catalina foothills

A combo forward who can play and defend multiple positions. She is a tough face-up forward type who can rip thru to score or shoot it from the perimeter from mid to the three point line. She rebounds well and will push the ball up the court and always seems to make the correct read.

[player_tooltip player_id='1196451' first='Daphne' last='Safo'] Rincon

A strong framed forward who can play down low in the paint and has the fluidity and athleticism to play on the wing. She is very effective getting to the basket and scoring the ball in transition. She is good inside to score with a rip thu and plays aggressively on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1325532' first='Addison' last='Elam'] Sahaurita

A newcomer to the database is a face-up power forward who can shoot it from mid to the three point line. She will control the glass with gobbling up rebounds and blocks shots inside with her size and length. She can give a ball fake and get a step on a defender and you rarely see her take a bad shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='1140910' first='Monica' last='Verrett'] Amphi

A quick combo guard has the ability to play on or off the ball. She is a tough competitor who plays hard and gets deflections and collects steals with her natural quickness. She will score it with cuts off the ball to the basket and has a very quick first step to get downhill.

[player_tooltip player_id='1139263' first='Aliyah' last='Adger'] Salpointe Catholic

A lead guard or combo has a good handle and she is a good decision maker. She plays smartly off of the pick and roll game and will dime her teammates with drive and kicks. She wont back down on defense with natural grit and toughness to compete and score with downhill takes.

[player_tooltip player_id='892652' first='Destiney' last='Brown'] Tucson

Arguably the best defender at the showcase is a wing forward who is very fluid and athletic to defend. She has next level instincts to play the passing lanes to collect steals, rebound and run the floor. She will hit the three off the catch and looks like your classic 3 and D type.

[player_tooltip player_id='936853' first='Serenity' last='Hampton'] Ironwood Ridge

A bigger wing is a top notch athlete for the girls side and a plus handle with a stronger frame makes her nearly impossible to stop getting downhill to score. She will score with contact takes and can live off the glass with offensive rebound put backs. She also defends most positions on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='1255435' first='Peyton' last='Wilmore'] Salpointe Catholic

The lone freshman on the list is a catch and shoot three point type who plays at a good pace. She can slide in the lead spot or off the ball but she will defend her position or multiple positions impressively with quick feet and toughness.

[player_tooltip player_id='929981' first='Jayda' last='Jordan'] Marana

A bigger power forward with some length and athleticism seems to rebound everything in and out of her area. She scores mostly on offensive rebound put backs but has the skill to score it with hook shots and running layups.

[player_tooltip player_id='1196455' first='Angelique' last='Yanez'] Sunnyside

A cerebral and skilled power forward who is tough and just simply knows how to play. She does all the right things you would want as she will often move the ball for a better shot with good court vision, score it inside the paint, rebound and face-up occasionally.
