Last Weekend, I attended the Expo up in Appleton, Wisconsin. I'll begin going through a handful of teams that I watched play today and highlighting the players I observed throughout the morning and early afternoon. I thought it was a productive day, seeing some players from around the state, and I found it to be my most enjoyable Expo since I first attended the event in 2021. Today, we'll look at Team Five and discuss the players from that unit.

Jay Luna

Luna is a skilled guard who did a solid job of creating space with the ball in her hands. Her ability to make things happen with the ball in her hands allowed her to generate looks at the basket. I thought she showed some signs that she could become an intriguing guard who can win her team games. I loved the confidence that she brings to the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='750262' first='Kendall' last='Schmitz']

The Manitowoc native is an intriguing prospect for a few reasons. Schmitz has the speed to attack the basket and turn the corner on anyone who lines up against her. She can handle the ball under pressure and make plays for herself and others. She plays hard on both ends of the floor and will generate extra-effort plays in her minutes. She could break out in her junior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='890151' first='Aubrey' last='Lensmire']

The Kaukauna wing is a player who can do a little of everything on both ends of teh floor. She has the length to make plays with her length. Lensmire is a solid athlete who can rebound around the basket, move her feet on the defensive end, and be an active player around the basket. She has also shown that she can make plays around the rim on the offensive end of the floor. Her versatility will help her develop into a player who can make winning plays in the Fox Valley Association.

[player_tooltip player_id='901242' first='Zamara' last='Gary']

The Madison area native is among the most intriguing players in her class. Gary doesn't play at a powerhouse high school in Madison Country Day, but did lead her team to a Regional Title in her first season of high school basketball. She is a talented perimeter shooter who can knock down shots off the dribble or as a spot shooter. I thought she played well in the 5v5 portion of the event, and she is a player who can swing a game in her minutes.
