This past Saturday, November 22nd, the inaugural BodyArmor Showcase tipped off at Pike High School, hosted by Pike Girls Basketball Head Coach Keith Hollins. The event delivered a full day of competitive matchups, showcasing a strong collection of rising talent from across Indiana. With teams featuring players from the 2026–2029 classes, the gym was packed with energy, physical play, and breakout performances.

The participating teams included Indianapolis Crispus Attucks, Pike, East Central, Hammond Central, Fort Wayne Snider, Lawrence Central, Floyd Central, Decatur Central, North Central, and Peru. Each program brought a different style and tempo, making the showcase a true test of skill and toughness for everyone involved.

Across the day, several players elevated their games and stood out as some of the best performers in the building. From dynamic scoring guards to physical rim protectors and high-IQ playmakers, the showcase highlighted just how strong Indiana's girls basketball pipeline continues to be.

I've kept an eye on [player_tooltip player_id='751118' first='Saniya' last='Smith'] since her freshman season, and she continues to be one of the most enjoyable players to watch develop. This year, she's off to a true breakout start. In Pike's matchup against Indianapolis Crispus Attucks, Smith delivered one of the most complete performances of the day 19 points, 5 assists, 7 steals, and 4-of-10 from three showcasing her versatility and confidence on both ends of the floor. Last season, Smith averaged 8.9 points per game, but her early-season surge shows she's taken a major step forward. She consistently got downhill, finished through contact, and knocked down perimeter shots at a high clip. Just as impressive was her defensive presence and vocal leadership. Smith controlled the floor, communicated well with her teammates, and set the tone for a talented and deep Pike roster. A dynamic 2027 guard with two-way impact, Smith is firmly establishing herself as a player that college coaches need to have on their radar. Her growth, production, and poise indicate a trajectory that projects well at the Division I level.

I first saw Sevan during the Prep Girls Hoops Showcase, and even then she stood out with her physical strength, ability to attack off the dribble, and her willingness to rebound in traffic. That same presence was on full display again in her matchup against Pike. Sevan finished with 7 points, but her impact went well beyond the box score. She helped fuel a crucial 18–8 second-quarter run, providing energy, toughness, and timely scoring against one of the top teams in the state. Her aggressiveness getting downhill created problems for Pike's defense, and her rebounding helped stabilize her team on both ends of the floor. Recently committed to Virginia Union University, Sevan will be a tremendous addition to the program. Her strength, motor, and confident attacking style translate well to the college level, and her ability to impact the game in multiple ways makes her a valuable long-term piece.

This was my first time watching East Central this season, and freshman forward [player_tooltip player_id='1263951' first='Lilly' last='Maple'] immediately grabbed my attention. She showed the poise, confidence, and scoring versatility of a much older player, proving she can put the ball in the basket from anywhere on the floor. Maple finished with 16 points against a tough Hammond Central squad—one that was just a game away from a regional championship last season. It was a significant test for a freshman, and she rose to the moment. Whether it was facing up, finishing inside, or knocking down open looks, Maple consistently found ways to score and keep her team competitive. Her skill set, size, and natural feel for the game make her one of the more intriguing 2029 prospects I've seen so far. With fours more years in East Central's system, her ceiling is extremely high. I'm looking forward to watching her growth and development throughout her high school career.

I've enjoyed watching LeAnah's game develop over the past year and a half, and each time I see her, she shows another layer of improvement. Her toughness on the defensive end has always been one of her defining traits, and she brought that same grit in Lawrence Central's matchup against Fort Wayne Snider—finishing with 12 points in the win. What stood out most this time was her growth as a consistent shooter. Since her freshman season, LeAnah has expanded her perimeter game while maintaining her natural ability to get downhill and finish through contact. That combination of improved shooting, attacking ability, and defensive intensity makes her one of the most well-rounded young guards in her class. With three more years of high school basketball ahead of her, LeAnah is positioning herself to become one of the top guards in the Metropolitan Conference and one of the strongest prospects in the 2028 class. Her trajectory continues to trend upward, and she's becoming a true leader for Lawrence Central.

I've always enjoyed watching Havana play because of the relentless effort she brings on both ends of the floor. Her motor is nonstop, and she consistently impacts the game with her energy, toughness, and willingness to do the little things that coaches value. One of her strongest qualities is her ability to handle the basketball under pressure, which allows her to stay on the floor and stabilize Decatur Central's offense. Havana plays with purpose, competes every possession, and provides an edge that elevates her teammates. Decatur Central is one of those programs that tends to gain momentum as the season progresses, and with players like Havana leading the charge, they have the potential to be a dangerous team by January. Don't be surprised if they make some noise in Sectional 12 as a tough, under-the-radar contender.
