Several players made a strong case, but one standout became the clear choice for this week's award. Those who had a dominant week worthy of consideration have been included in the article as Honorable Mention. Here are the girls who had an outstanding week nine. After averaging 17.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, four steals, and two assists per game at the midpoint, Lucy has taken her game to an even higher level in February. She started with 14 points and eight rebounds in a 44-16 win at Allegan. Lucy followed with 18 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, four steals, and two blocks in a 54-23 win at Martin. Lucy ended the week with a season-high 38 points, adding 11 rebounds, three assists, and two steals during a 57-55 win at Lawton. Lucy totaled 70 points and 29 rebounds, leading the Irish to a 3-0 record. She etched her name in the Hackett Catholic Prep basketball history books on Feb. 9th, setting a new single-game scoring record (boys and girls) with 44 points against Galesburg-Augusta. She posted 15 points, five rebounds, and four steals vs. Rockford, then added eight points, eight steals, and six rebounds in a 56-33 win vs. West Ottawa. Saamyia buried four triples to help East Kentwood earn a 56-50 win vs. East Lansing. In a 61-25 win vs. Beal City, Zoey poured in 18 points and added seven steals.
