Haevyn was named the 2A All Tournament Team Captain at the end of the week. She was a prospect that shoot the leather off of the ball, she made plays as a creator off of the dribble, she was steady as a rebounding threat, and she defended in big moments down the stretch. We have seen some impressive showings out of H.R. this Winter on more than one occasion. She demonstrated this week that her shooting ability is truly next level and when she can play off of that offensively, she is almost impossible to contain. I said it the other day, Northwestern (IA) got a STEAL with the Ranschau twins. They are going to be fantastic at that level this upcoming Winter.

Hudsyn was more of the off the ball shooting threat for Rock Valley. She was tasked with hitting shots off the catch from anywhere and everywhere to start the year and she has never looks back. Out of the twin sisters, this is the one that is primarily going to work off of the ball. As a whole, she has really nice footwork out the outside when it comes to receiving screening action and she can make a shot in any given situation that might unfold. If these sisters player off of each other moving forward like they did this past six months then everyone better watch out. They were lights out this season and that won't change on the collegiate floor.

Denver put together a season to remember as a whole the past few months. They handled almost every matchup put in front of them until they got to the State Semi's and that's something to be proud of. Their work horse for the past four years, who was a big threat this past week for the Cyclones is 5'11 - [player_tooltip player_id='1795588' first='Channing' last='Johnson']. Johnson put up 22 and 12 in their Round One matchup where they escaped by 2 points. In Round Two they fell just short but she still led the team in scoring while chipping in as a rebounder, distributor, and defender. Johnson has had a heck of a high school career. One that she is going to be able to look back and be extremely satisfied with.

[player_tooltip player_id='985182' first='Addison' last='Mauer'] of Treynor High School is a natural when it come to the sport of Basketball. She isn't the tallest, she isn't the strongest, she isn't the quickest but she is still going to dominate her matchup. Offensively, she knows how to use her body angles really well as she attacks down hill and she is smooth enough to counter whenever she is cut off. Defensively, she is scrappy with her active hands and first step movement towards the rock. When you combined those together you see a lot of promise out of the Sophomore. She helped lead Treynor to a State appearance this season and I'm sure that will be the case once again next season.

When you looked at Rock Valley this season, the #1 priority on a scouting report was to stop the shooting from deep but that unplayed the ability of Sophomore CG - [player_tooltip player_id='1312159' first='Caydence' last='Harmsen']. Harmsen is the future for this team. They will return next season as State Champions and she is going to have a lot of the work load when it comes to their future production. That shouldn't be the hardest task as she put up really good numbers the past 2-3 months. As long as she works hard in her off-season and she comes back motivated, she should be even better the next time we see her take the hardwood but we will see.

Doeschot's is going to be a natural at the D2 level in the near future. She is a PG that leads with pace of play, a smooth scoring ability, and a smart head on her shoulders. She has been a calm-killer for years now on both the high school and AAU floors, proving herself every time she laced up her kicks. Hinton is a team with a stacked roster but they would have been nothing without Doeschot's running the show the past few years. She has been playing as their motor for a while now and that was the case this past week in DSM as they had some more success. In the end, they didn't repeat as State Champs but that's okay. They left it all on the floor and put up a respectable performance at the end of the day. Which is all you can really ask for.
