The 2026 edition tipped off Monday with Class 3A contesting three quarterfinals during the night session before completing the round with a contest Tuesday morning. We thought it would be fun to put together an all-quarterfinal team from the 3A games.   Here's a closer look at who landed on the squad:   [player_tooltip player_id='883553' first='Quinn' last='Pershing'], 2028, G, Mount Vernon: The Mustang sophomore breaks opponents' backs with her sharp-shooting from behind the arc. She was at it again on Monday, when top-seeded Mount Vernon advanced with a victory against Cherokee Washington. Pershing drained 6 of 9 three-point attempts en route to a 21-point performance. She added two rebounds, an assist and a steal in 30 minutes. Pershing delivered throughout the decisive second half, especially in the final minutes, when she sealed the win by knocking down three of four attempts from the foul line.   [player_tooltip player_id='920715' first='Emily' last='Tanny'], 2029, G, Wahlert Catholic: The Golden Eagle freshman announced her arrival at the state tournament with a megaphone. She led all 3A scorers in the quarterfinals with 30 points, fueled by sinking 12 of 13 free-throw tries, and added nine rebounds, three steals, an assist and a block in a win against Williamsburg. Tanny is a match-up nightmare as a tall, long-limbed athlete with skills advanced beyond her years. It seemed like whenever the Raiders made a run at Wahlert in the second half, Tanny would get to the line and convert. That included her hitting three of four from the charity stripe in the game's final minute.   [player_tooltip player_id='534428' first='Aubrey' last='Kroymann'], 2026, C/F, Maquoketa: One of the top uncommitted seniors in Iowa, Kroymann provided prospective colleges with something to consider via her output against Mediapolis in a quarterfinal win on Monday. She notched game-highs in points (19) and rebounds (7), adding three steals, a block and an assist. A four-sport athlete, Kroymann knows how to compete on the big stage. She got the scoring started with a layup for the game's first points and kept doing her thing as Cardinals built a 19-point lead in the second quarter and never looked back.   [player_tooltip player_id='896069' first='Reese' last='DeVooght'], 2026, G, Des Moines Christian: The Urbandale transfer hit the ground running with the Lions and hasn't slowed down. DeVooght filled it up for a game-high 23 points during Tuesday's hard-fought quarterfinal win against Forest City. She also pulled down six rebounds and shot a perfect 6 for 6 from the free throw line. With Des Moines Christian clinging to a two-point lead with a minute and a half remaining in regulation, the senior calmly stepped up and knocked down all four of her foul shots to seal the victory.   [player_tooltip player_id='1091996' first='Jenna' last='Dontje'], 2026, C/F, Forest City: In a heartbreaking quarterfinal loss to Des Moines Christian Tuesday morning, Dontje did everything she could to secure a win. The senior shot 9 of 13 from the floor on her way to a team-high 21 points. A Simpson College commitment, Dontje also pulled down a game-best 13 rebounds to go with four steals and a block. A long-limbed, athletic presence in the paint, she made things difficult for Des Moines Christian on both ends of the court. A sequence midway through the fourth-quarter highlighted Dontje's ability to impact games. She grabbed a defensive rebound, ran down the court, pulled down an offensive board and connected on a put-back layup to put her team ahead by three.
