PGH Southeast Kickoff: 15U Backcourt Beasts from Day One

The previous high school season's champions have been crowned. But for many a premier high school prospect, the ball does not stop rolling.    That is where the travel schedule comes into play – including a Prep Girls Hoops Circuit that is larger for its 2026 version. Circuit events are taking place over the weekend in locales such as New York, Chicago and North Carolina.    A large number of teams were on site in Hickory for the Southeast Kickoff – including a number of 15U teams. Getting production from the backcourt was crucial for many of those teams to get in the win column.     Seibles is a familiar name to Prep Girls Hoops considering she was once a top performer at a Carolinas Freshman Showcase. Her Fire Ball Basketball Academy 15U assembling put together a dominant performance over Carolina Smoke 15U and Seibles was a key name on her team's roster. She is an effective rebounder who takes full advantage of the height she possesses. Seibles also does not shy away from contact that can place her at the free throw line. In addition to wearing the Fire Ball uniform, Seibles is also a Firebird. She averaged 15.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 3.6 steals and 1.1 blocks per game last season for a 1A Falls Lake Academy team that finished this past season with a 19-3 record.     Cash put together one of the signature freshman seasons of 2029 in North Carolina and carried that momentum with her into the first day of Southeast Kickoff play. It began in emphatic fashion with a dominant victory over Carolina Smoke 15U. Fearlessness is a hallmark of Cash's game and she looks like more a seasoned vet on the court as opposed to someone who just finished her freshman campaign. Cash competed in all 25 games this past season for a 4A Nash Central team that concluded said 2025-26 campaign with a record of 19-6. She averaged 18.2 points, eight assists, 6.3 steals and six rebounds per game.     Bridges can be a team's bridge to a winning future. She was one of the featured players in the first 15U contest of the weekend's play as Fire Ball Basketball Academy 15U put together a dominant outing at the expense of Carolina Smoke 15U. When Bridges has the ball behind the 3-point arc, she is very likely to take – and make – said try from distance. Bridges also displays superb ball handling skills and can get crafty with those handles in an effort to either find an open teammate or attack the basket. She was another who had a breakout freshman season, averaging 22.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.2 steals last season at 8A Athens Drive.     Just as there is a Mecklenburg County in North Carolina, there is also one in Virginia where Crenshaw butters her basketball bread. The 2025-26 version of the Phoenix concluded said season with a record of 16-6. Opposing defenses have to watch out for when Crenshaw has the ball behind the 3-point arc with her ability to connect from long range. Crenshaw also does not shy away from contact that can place her at the free throw line. She is the lone Mecklenburg County representative on this year's Fire Ball Basketball Academy team – and the lone Virginia representative.     Carolina Smoke 15U's Southeast Kickoff did not exactly have a promising start as the team was on the wrong end of a blowout loss to Fire Ball Basketball Academy. Scott still put forth a valiant effort to give her team a chance. She is a fearless attacker of the rim and does not shy away from attempting tough shots. Hauling in rebounds is another positive attribute to Scott's game. Scott can particularly make plays in transition and has no issues drawing contact that can put her at the free throw line. She is coming off a 2025-26 season where she played 16 games for a Hoggard team that won an East Regional 8A championship.     After earning plenty of playing time as a freshman and averaging 10 points per game this past season, Oliver is looking to translate that into even more solid play during the travel season. Oliver plays the role of a point guard more than a two guard and this displays itself with how ferociously she attacks the rim. She is listed at 5-foot-7. A number of those occasions where she does go strong in attacking the cup can result in her getting fouled and her going to the free throw line. Getting out in the open floor to make plays in transition is another advantage to her overall game.     Stasko was another of the names that proudly wore [program_tooltip program_id='714756' first='Carolina' last='All-Stars'] 15U P32' signature gold and black uniforms on Saturday. A 5-foot-6 prospect, Stasko gave her team a reliable scoring threat from distance in its contest against Fire Ball Basketball Academy 15U. She connected on two of her team's five 3-pointers in that matchup. In addition, she also keeps her hands active on defense and that can leave many opposing ball carriers prone to turnovers. Among last season's Cardinal Gibbons roster, Stasko was one of four 2029s. Collecting a large number of steals is another positive attribute of Stasko's game that, as a freshman, is still developing.     The multi-sport athlete distinction certainly applies to Cole as she also plays lacrosse in addition to her basketball accolades. Cole would compete in 20 contests this past season for 8A Pinecrest. What she does on defense can lead to many an offensive transition opportunity for her team. Cole is a fearless and ferocious rim attacker and many of those occasions where she draws contact can lead to her and her team gaining additional opportunities at the free throw line. A 3-point shot is also part of her offensive arsenal. Cole was one of three from the 2029 class on this past season's Patriots assembling.     [program_tooltip program_id='1808859' first='Alabama' last='Dream'] 15U had to wait until the latter portions of the afternoon for its first game of this year's Southeast Kickoff. The old saying is good things happen to those who wait and her team was on the winning end of a lopsided decision against [program_tooltip program_id='714756' first='Carolina' last='All-Stars'] 15U BSB. Speed and quickness are central to her game and she has no problems displaying her accuracy from behind the 3-point line. Defensively, she can match an opposing ball-carrier step for step and offensively she understands the art of finishing strong at the rim. Some onlookers may overlook her and give her the “undersized guard” tag, but the talent is what matters in this case – not the height.     [program_tooltip program_id='714756' first='Carolina' last='All-Stars'] 15U BSB was given plenty of problems courtesy of [program_tooltip program_id='1808859' first='Alabama' last='Dream'] 15U's backcourt. Myers was one of those guard that ensured her team would begin this year's Southeast Kickoff in the win column. Transition playmaking is key to what she gets accomplished and that is complimented by her ability to finish strong at the basket. Drawing contact and getting to the free throw line is another of Myers' strong points. Myers is poised for a bright future throughout these next three seasons at Hazel Green – the same Hazel Green that won this past season's 6A state championship.     One had to know when looking at the 15U field for the Southeast Kickoff that [program_tooltip program_id='715813' first='Team' last='Hickory Basketball Club'] would be one of the teams to beat. Bradley's play ensured her team would depart from Saturday's play unblemished. She maintains a very busy athletic schedule between the basketball and the tennis she also plays. Bradley thrives as a guard and that incudes her ability to convert on high-percentage baskets. She can get downhill in a hurry and can corral her own offensive rebound (and possible two-point putback) in the case of a miss. Bradley also does not shy away from contact to give her team chances at the free throw line.     Bridges is another of the two-sport athletes that are part of [program_tooltip program_id='715813' first='Team' last='Hickory Basketball Club'] 15U. In addition to what she gets accomplished on the basketball court, she also thrives on the soccer pitch. Bridges gives a 3-point shooting dimension to her team's offensive attack. [program_tooltip program_id='715813' first='Team' last='Hickory Basketball Club'] connected on three 3-pointers in its game with [program_tooltip program_id='714756' first='Carolina' last='All-Stars'] 15U P32 – two were Bridges'. That long range accuracy combined with the ability to attack the basket can throw many a defense for a loop. Speed and quickness are also important elements to Bridges' game.     [program_tooltip program_id='714756' first='Carolina' last='All-Stars'] 15U P32 may have opened this year's Southeast Kickoff 0-2, but they matched up against two of the toughest teams in the field in Fire Ball Basketball Academy 15U and [program_tooltip program_id='715813' first='Team' last='Hickory Basketball Club'] 15U. Thanks to Rogers' stellar play, [program_tooltip program_id='714756' first='Carolina' last='All-Stars'] 15U P32 ensured the Hickory-based assembling would have to earn that win. She can make plenty of plays near the rim – whether she is converging on a high-percentage opportunity or whether she is attacking the rim. Defensively, she will keep her hands outstretched and will get one of those hands in the face of an opposing ball carrier.     At 5-foot-9, Durant stands taller than one's traditional two guard. Durant displayed throughout Southeast Kickoff Saturday exactly why [program_tooltip program_id='714762' first='Charlotte' last='Dream Elite'] 14U is playing up in class against more experienced 15U groups. She is a skilled rim attacker who understands that playing in close proximity to the rim means plenty of physicality. Opposing teams have to game plan for the havoc she can wreak on both offense and defense. She has played her middle school career at Hickory Ridge MS and one can expect the 7A Ragin' Bulls will continue its winning ways once Durant makes her way to the high school team.     There is a litany of talented names among the 2030 ranks in South Carolina. Adams is one of the brightest and she is looking to translate what was a solid season for the 4A Bruins into even more stellar play with [program_tooltip program_id='714762' first='Charlotte' last='Dream Elite'] 14U. Her play helped her club team win its first two games at the Southeast Kickoff. Even though Adams is listed as a guard, she will have occasions where she can play with her back to the basket. Adams will keep her arms outstretched on the defensive end of the floor and has no issues drawing contact to get to the free throw line. Adams averaged 12.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and two steals per contest last season for Lancaster and recently completed her second season at the varsity level.     Warren is the lone 2031 on this travel season's [program_tooltip program_id='714762' first='Charlotte' last='Dream Elite'] 14U assembling. This means she was already playing up in class on her own grassroots squad in addition to playing up in class this weekend in North Carolina. Warren was another key reason why her team was one of three that concluded the first day undefeated. She stands at 5-foot-8 and is a consistent scorer at all three levels. Warren has played her middle school ball with Mallard Creek MS and her skillset is sure to translate seamlessly once she makes her way to the 8A high school Mavericks.
