PGH College Tour IV: Standout Forwards Pt 1

Saginaw Valley State was the final stop along the Prep Girls Hoops Michigan College Tour. Talent fit for every level of college basketball flooded the beautiful gym. The facility was perfect for the occasion. Teams had the opportunity to compete in front of 13 different college programs (D2, D3, NAIA, JUCO), PGH scouts, and Midwest Recruiting Resource. Her presence in the paint helped the team finish with an undefeated record, taking home the Championship T-Shirts. Ryenn moved well, timed up shots, and kept her hands high to block layup attempts without fouling. She had several rejections throughout the day and was a force on the offensive glass. Ryenn worked hard to secure rebounds, then scored putbacks. She cut to the basket, caught an entry pass with good hands, pivoted to get the scoring angle, then used a baby hook to sink the jumper over a defender. Ryenn's mobility, high motor, and length make her a very impactful forward with a high ceiling at the college level.     Hadleigh is a PGH Circuit stock riser. She competes with a high motor, plays physical, has athleticism, and possesses length that immediately jumps out. Hadleigh gave [program_tooltip program_id='1831436' first='MBA' last='[program_tooltip program_id='952340' first='The' last='House']'] 17U an edge with her shot blocking and aggressive rebounding. She crashed the glass and scored multiple putbacks. Hadleigh cut to the basket, caught the entry pass with strong hands, and finished with a layup. She wasn't afraid to shoot the three. Hadleigh closed out quickly to contest perimeter jumpers, deflected entry passes, and was disruptive in the paint. She set strong screens, swatted multiple layup attempts away without fouling, and scored with a nice reverse finish after securing an offensive rebound.     Ashlyn was a new face who caught my attention while playing for [program_tooltip program_id='1831436' first='MBA' last='[program_tooltip program_id='952340' first='The' last='House']'] 17U at the PGH Michigan College Tour IV. She's long and athletic, with versatility that makes her very effective as an inside-outside wing-forward. Ashlyn knocked down a smooth mid-corner jumper, took the ball straight to the basket on a hard drive in transition to earn a trip to the free-throw line, and crashed the boards with determination to score strong putbacks in a crowd. Ashlyn is interested in pursuing a degree in Biology.     Audrey created a no-fly zone in the paint, taking full advantage of the opponent's persistent effort to score layups. She must have had a triple-double in blocks, rebounds, and points. Audrey moves like a guard and has the length/physicality needed to play inside. She timed up shots and swatted them away with emphasis like she was spiking volleyballs at the net. Audrey penetrated off the dribble to score layups with touch and made smooth transfers for finishes off two feet after cutting to the basket. After swatting a shot in the paint, she passed the ball ahead to a teammate, sprinted the floor to follow the play, and was able to score the putback because she hustled to get into position for a potential miss. Audrey had another huge tournament for [program_tooltip program_id='714456' first='MBSA' last='Hoyas'] during the PGH Michigan College Tour IV. She's a wing-forward-guard Swiss army knife prospect who continues to impress.     Kaitlyn is an incoming freshman who has the potential to be a very good high school player and college prospect. She's long, athletic, and mobile. Kaitlyn can face-up and drive hard downhill for layups, or post up defenders to score with her back to the basket. Her length disrupts shots on the defensive end and closes passing lanes. She was active on the boards and is definitely a prospect we'd like to see at the Freshman Showcase.     Clare was very productive for [program_tooltip program_id='1831436' first='MBA' last='[program_tooltip program_id='952340' first='The' last='House']'] 17U at the PGH Michigan College Tour IV. Her strength, physicality, and work ethic left a lasting impression. Clare used her shoulder to move defenders out of the way inside and powered up off two feet to score multiple layups through contact in the paint. Clare muscled her way into position to secure many rebounds on both ends and scored strong putbacks. She's interested in pursuing a degree in Special Education.
