A [program_tooltip program_id='713550' first='Palmetto' last='76ers'] product, Carter has received collegiate offers from Lander, Livingstone College, Claflin, Anderson, Francis Marion, Minnesota North College Vermillion and Denmark Tech. She would average 8.4 points, 2.5 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game before taking her talents to the grassroots circuit where she would wear the uniform of Carolina Hornets United. Lombana was one of the leading bucket-getters on what was a young Warriors bunch last season. She was the only sophomore for coach Kevin Wyatt's Riverside team last season and concluded her 2025-26 campaign having averaged 8.2 points per contest. During the spring and summer, she ran with [program_tooltip program_id='715412' first='SC' last='Eagles'] which played primarily on the Under Armour circuit but also made a few appearances on the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit.

There will be a pair of 5A Chapin representatives on hand at the SCBCA Elite Camp. Wright will be one of them and completed a 2025-26 season where she competed in 25 games for the Eagles. Wright has kept an active athletic schedule over the years including track, cheer and volleyball in addition to basketball. She was one of three from the class of 2028 that was part of last season's Chapin team that was the first year of coach Terence Jones' tenure with the Eagles. Since Chapin graduated six seniors from last season's team, it creates opportunities for names such as Wright to embrace that “next woman up” mentality.

Hollenbeck will be one of the three Bruins that will represent 4A Lancaster at this weekend's SCBCA Elite Camp. Hollenbeck previously played her middle school ball at South MS and competed in 24 games last season in Lancaster's gold and navy blue hues. She averaged 10.3 points, a team-leading 7.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. Hollenbeck was also second on the team in blocks and was one of five 2028s on last season's Bruins team. She has already been athletically active throughout the fall semester as she also plays volleyball in addition to what she gets accomplished on the basketball court.

The Rebels of 5A Byrnes garner headlines for their backcourt play, but one cannot ignore how the team's frontcourt has made it among one of the toughest outs in the Palmetto State. Salmon will be one of two Rebels that will be present at this weekend's camp in North Charleston. She was third among Rebels in rebounding last season as she brought down 6.3 boards per game in addition to the eight points that she tallied per contest. Salmon spent her spring and summer of travel basketball running with Better Built Basketball. She was one of five from the class of 2028 on last season's Rebels team.

Considering Boatwright plays for a Lowcountry team in 5A Ashley Ridge, she will not have far to travel to arrive at this year's SCBCA Elite Camp. Boatwright is among a plethora of Swamp Foxes that will be in North Charleston this weekend and played up in class with [program_tooltip program_id='988463' first='Mosch' last='Ball'] 17U. Among the highlights of her travel season was winning the 17U division championship at Run 4 The Roses in July. Boatwright is returning for her junior campaign with a Swamp Foxes team that won a region championship last season and was a 5A Division 1 Lower State semifinalist. She averaged 9.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals per contest in 2025-26.

After a pair of seasons where Epting's Daniel team played in the 4A ranks, reclassification has the Lions back in the 3A realm. Epting's Lions are poised to be one of the teams to beat in 3A play this upcoming campaign after being one of the winners of transfer season. Epting will be the lone representative from coach Cosandar Griffin's Daniel team at this year's SCBCA Elite Camp. One of three 2028s on last season's Lions team, she returns to Daniel after competing in all 27 of the Lions' contests from last season. Epting in 2025-26 averaged 12.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and two steals per game.

Bender will be one of three from Waccamaw who will make the trek down Highway 17 to arrive at this year's SCBCA Elite Camp. She returns to a Warriors team that was reclassified into the 2A ranks following a decade of playing in the 3A realm. Bender was one of the participants at this year's Prep Girls Hoops Carolinas Expo in Rock Hill early last month. Not only was Bender one of four 2028s on last season's team but she was also one of two team co-captains. She competed in 22 contests last season and averaged 8.1 points, 7.9 rebounds (second on the team) per game.

October is when the playoff pushes in fall sports start to heat up and the hype machine begins for the winter sports slate – specifically basketball.

It is also when one of the most highly anticipated showcase events of the offseason takes place. Said event is the Elite Camp that is put together by the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association (SCBCA). It takes place every year at the North Charleston Athletic Center.

Some of the Palmetto State's best and brightest from the senior, junior, sophomore, freshman classes will be on hand – as will a few from the middle school ranks. Our pre-Elite Camp coverage continues by looking at a few names that will make their presences felt in the Lowcountry from the 2028 class.
