About Mone’t
Expert Analysis
Charles Foster | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Mone’t showed she is prepared for the next level at Hofstra University. Her defender struggled to contain her, as she had full command of her crossover and consistently created separation off the dribble. Whether pulling up into open space or using her strong, college-ready frame to attack the rim, she dictated the matchup.
In a hostile environment, her steady ball handling reflected both poise and leadership. She controlled tempo when needed, made sound decisions under pressure, and delivered a composed performance that underscored her readiness for the collegiate stage.

Monet has a scoring mentality and the ability to put up 40 point games on a consistent basis. She is streaky and if you catch her at the right time she will fill the basket up really quickly. She is a fast guard with and explosive first step and nice release on her shot and she is just as willing to dish the ball as she is to shoot.

Monet returns to the Stars after a great summer last season. If she builds off of her previous success she should be considered a priority get for college coaches. She has great control and vision playing the point and super long range shooting the three when she wants to let it fly. She is a zone buster that literally needs to be picked up at half court.

As the floor general for the Fairfax Stars, Edwards’ standout skill is her dynamic three-point shooting. This lead guard is an efficient volume shooter from deep, and in the modern era of basketball, her ability to consistently drain shots from beyond the arc is a game-changer. Her sharp shooting not only stretches defenses but also creates valuable opportunities for her team, making her a crucial asset in today’s fast-paced game. Edwards also has the ability to drive into the paint when defenders are stretched out to contest her shot, allowing her to either finish strong at the rim or use her excellent court vision to find open teammates. In two of the final three games for her Fairfax Stars squad, Edwards knocked down four threes in each game, shooting over 40% from beyond the arc in each, truly showcasing her prowess as a knockdown volume shooter.

Mentioning Monet before after one game didn’t do her justice after seeing here complete the tournament. Here range was phenomenal as she was a threat as soon as she passed half court and she hit the deep three at a high percentage and got better each game. She was able to handle the ball while being pressured and she gave back the pressure on the defensive end.
