Morgan Miller Morgan Miller 5’9″ | PG Iowa City Regina | 2025 State IA has been going off this season for the 5-1 Iowa City-Regina Regals as their starting point guard and primary play maker. Miller is a smart and calculated guard who has very good vision down the floor. She likes to run in transition and find her teammates for open looks out on the perimeter when given the opportunity. She has a solid dribble accompanied with a good shooting stroke that she has really been working on during the off season and it is definitely paying off. Last season as a freshman Miller missed some open looks from behind the arc but this year has been different as she has become much more consistent and efficient shooting the ball. It’ll be fun to see the numbers she puts up each week as this season moves forward as she is a great player who can really fill it up. I wouldn’t be surprised if she gets close to the 40 point mark during a game or two at some point in her high school career.
Bella Borgos
Bella Borgos
Bella Borgos came into this season under the radar in the state of Iowa but right now she is making a lasting impact for her West Marshall high school team, on the way to being 6-0 to start their season. Borgos is a pure shooter who just ended up scoring 35 points on 8-made three pointers in their latest win, along with grabbing 5 rebounds and causing 4 turnovers on the defensive end. When talking about her game what everyone always highlights is her shooting ability which makes sense but I think her effort is a big key to her performance that’s not touched on as much. She is the type of player to be the first on the ground or diving into the stands for a loose ball. She displays good communication with her teammates and coaches when they are speaking to her in game situations while always listening. Herself paired with Katy Reyerson Katy Reyerson 6’2″ | PF West Marshall | 2023 State IA by her side will team up to be a very competitive duo this year. I fully expect for them to make a big play-off push with their West Marshall squad once the tournament starts this spring.
Halle Vice Halle Vice 5’11” | SG Pleasant Valley | 2023 State IA recorded 26 points in their win over Linn-Mar high school this past weekend. Vice did it all for her team with the help of shooting guard Reagan Pagniano Reagan Pagniano 5’7″ | SG Pleasant Valley | 2025 State IA to propel Pleasant Valley to a convincing 58-26 win over the Lions. This season has been a good start for the Marquette women’s basketball commit as their leader. She is averaging over 17 PPG and 4 APG for the Spartans as they start this year 5-0 overall, 4-0 in conference. Looking forward I expect for her to end her season averaging around 20 point a game as she also contributes on the defensive end and in other ways for her team. As we get closer to the play-offs and the lights get brighter, the best will step up and make a difference, one of those being Vice. It’ll be fun to see.
Grace Knutson Grace Knutson 5’10” | SG Cedar Falls | 2024 State IA has been having a great season to start her junior year for Cedar Falls high school. Knutson, the Drake women’s basketball commit, scored 22 in their game this past weekend lighting it up from all over the court. She did a great job all game controlling the tempo and keeping everything going at her own pace, not her competitions. She shot very well from the outside while facing a 2-3 zone in the half court. Coming into this season Knutson was ranked as one of the best shooters in the state and still is. She has an efficient shooting stroke with great balance and footwork off of screens. She can pull up off of the dribble or off of the catch against man or a zone depending what the defense plays. In college I will be intrigued to see if she comes in just off the bench as a shooter or as a point guard as well with her ability to handle and distribute.
