Expert Analysis
Tony Chapman | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Kuhn is the real deal. An elite passer who can drive the ball, who also shoots it really well from outside. Her length on defense can also be a big problem for other teams opposing guards. For her Marian team that advanced to a Class A district final in late February, she led the Crusaders in scoring (16.7 points) and rebounds (7.5) and assists (4.3). We expect high-level offers to come rolling in for Kuhn.

It doesn’t take long to know why Kuhn is firmly entrenched in the top-three of the Class of 2028 with Nylah Tatum and Payton Dolliver. At 5-9 she’s a tall and strong ball handler with some of the best court vision we have seen from anyone in the state this season. Kuhn filled the stat sheet against the Bearcats with 15 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds. She finished her sophomore campaign with averages of 16.8 points, 7.5 points and 4.0 assists. Kuhn is another in that class that is a legitimate Division 1 prospect.

has been a handful for everyone on the offensive end this Winter. Kuhn is light the nights up with her natural ability to put the ball in the bucket. She is simply taking what the defense has been giving her, scoring off the catch and shot when she has space or at the bucket after a smooth down-hill drive. Kuhn is a college level player, she is just younger in her career right now. She will be someone that I’m sure receives interest from the high D2/low D1 level at the end of the day. Until then, she just needs to keep on building on her weaknesses.

-type things so far this season. What does that mean you might ask? It means a whole lot of buckets offensively paired with a whole lotta winning. Kuhn is a coordinated hooper. She is usually labeled one of the best offensive players on the court at any given time with her shooting ability, her midrange jumper, and her ability to get all the way to the bucket off of a single dribble or two. Kuhn is another prospect that is going to be in that conversation for some D1 looks at the end of the day. She just needs to stay consistent and rest will be history.

, one of the best 2028’s in the entire state, knows what’s up and knows what this weekend is about: Domination. Kuhn is coming off of an EYBL 15U National Title this past AAU season with her All Iowa Attack EYBL program and she is ready to show the state of Nebraska what she has learned in her time away. Kuhn’s skilled. She can light up the nets offensively, while being a solid 1v1 defender against her position. There aren’t many times that I’ve seen Kuhn really challenged up to this point in her career so this event should be interesting. There will be a few matchups, that I will set up, that I’ll be intrigued to watch first hand. If she plays with her usually confidence, I’m sure she will continue to thrive! No matter who steps in front of her,

of Marion High School. Kuhn is slowly rounding out her game, more and more as she continues to grow in her play-style. When I first saw Kuhn, her offensive ability was obviously something that stood out. She is someone that can score at everyone offensive level that you can name with ease. It’s pretty impressive but her defense is where I still have questions. Individually, she is solid. When it comes to team-defensive concepts, she is getting better and better as she grows. This Winter should answer a lot of questions that we have about Kuhn. If she starts off hot and doesn’t look back, she could put together another record-setting season as a top rated 2028 throughout the state.

of Marian High School is coming off an AAU season to remember with her AIA program out of Des Moines. If she can build off of that, she is sure to put together an impressive year. Kuhn is talented across the board as a hooper. She can get a lot of buckets in the blink of an eye but she is also sound defensively and as a rebounder in general. Where Kuhn plays in college will all come down to how she progresses moving into the future. If she tightens up some small things and continues to be her natural-self while letting it fly, she will have some options at the next level before she finished her high school career.

joined the 15U EYBL
All Iowa Attack
team after playing EYCL all season long, eventually going undefeated throughout the past 4 days and securing a 15U EYBL National Title. Kuhn joined this squad and made some solid plays. She made a noticeable difference when she was in the contest and that’s note-worthy. This 15U group hasn’t lost on the EYBL Circuit in 2 years. To come in and stand out in a positive way, matters. All in all, good showing from Kuhn and Company this weekend.

is getting the call up to the 15U EYBL squad this weekend and I’m very excited to see how she competes with this
Elite
group of hoopers. AIA 15U EYBL is the best 15U EYBL Team in the Country. They won a 8th Grade EYBL JR National Title last season and that’s with having a number of 2028’s playing on 17U EYBL instead. Kuhn is a smart and tactical killer on offense. A three level scorer in every definition of the phrase. She is also respectable on defense with quick hands and a smart head on her shoulders but playing with this group is different. You can’t just be good. You have to be great so we will see what Kuhn can do in Vegas over the next few days.

made the move to All Iowa Attack in Des Moines this AAU season to compete on their 15U EYCL team. Kuhn, a 5’9 CG, showed a ton of promise during her Freshman campaign at Marian High School. She was someone that her team looked to on both sides of the floor to make impactful and game-winning plays. She did this time and time again, making her name known as one of the, “big dawgs”, that the state of Nebraska has to offer. Following that she picked up right where she left off. She is someone that has been an impactful player this Spring and that keeps her in our #2 spot in this Update.
