Continue ReadingIt’s earlier than we would normally rank a freshman class but this 2025 class is one we’ve had a chance to see a lot. These are our top 30 in the 2025 class. Reminder, these rankings are primarily based on college potential. The bigger, longer and more athletic they are, the more likely they are to be at the top of the list. Several of these young ladies already have multiple college offers.
ZaKiyah Johnson ZaKiyah Johnson 6'0" | SF Sacred Heart | 2025 State KY , Sacred Heart – You could argue that Johnson is the best prospect in Kentucky regardless of class and I’m not sure you would get much push back. Zakiyah can score the ball anywhere on the court and has guard skills with post size. A mismatch nightmare for defenders, Johnson is an elite level talent.
Leah Macy Leah Macy 6'3" | PF Bethlehem | 2025 State KY , Bardstown – Right behind Johnson and just as big of a national recruit, Leah is a star and going to be the top player in the region for years to come. Macy can post up and score on about anyone but also has the ability to put the ball on the floor and attack defenders. Look for the 6’2 Macy to be a top 50-100 player in America in 2025.
Ciara Byars Ciara Byars 6'2" | CG George Rogers Clark | 2025 State KY , George Rogers Clark – Ciara doesn’t have as much hype around her name as Johnson and Macy but she has a ton of potential as a big guard and has already earned an offer from Cincinnati. Look for Byars to continue drawing attention from tons of college coaches and building her national profile as a top guard/wing.
Halle Collins Halle Collins 5'11" | SF Knox Central | 2025 State KY , Knox Central – Collins was slowed by a knee injury last season but is back now and ready to continue racking up D1 offers. Halle is a big slashing wing who can also post up smaller defenders and get buckets. As her leg gets back to 100%, look for Collins to regain her athleticism and get back in the mix for the top spot in 2025.
Hayden Barrier Hayden Barrier 5'6" | SG Montgomery County | 2024 State KY , Montgomery County – A reclassified 2024, Hayden was a top 10 in 2024 and is now a top 5 in 2025. The guard from MoCo is a talented combo that can get in the paint or knock down shots from deep. Barrier already holds multiple D1 offers and should see more coming her way over the next couple of years.
Skylar Waller Skylar Waller 5'7" | PG Marshall County | 2025 State KY , Calloway County – Waller is an efficient scorer with a bright future and is on the short list of best players in the western part of the state. Skylar shows a high IQ with good decision making and is a big time shot maker. Already very talented, her best basketball is ahead of her.
Marissa Green Marissa Green 6'3" | C Highlands | 2025 State KY , Highlands – Green is a tall center with a lot of potential. As an 8th grader, Green didn’t get a ton of playing time but showed flashes of potential. Morehead State offered after her performance at their elite camp this summer and as she develops, Marissa could move up this list.
Juliana Frazee Juliana Frazee 6'1" | C Franklin County | 2025 State KY , Franklin County – A new name that emerged at our Top 250 this month, Juliana could be the next great player for the Lady Flyers. Frazee has great size and is able to score over her right shoulder with ease. Moving ahead, she will need to keep developing her left hand and post moves but she has a chance to be really good.
Peyton Bradley Peyton Bradley 5'9" | CG Meade County | 2025 State KY , Meade County – One of the best scorers on the list, Bradley averaged over 17 points per game as an 8th grader and is an elite shooter. Having shot over 41% from three last season, Peyton can also put the ball on the floor and score or get to the line.
Addison Terry, Owsley County – Terry is from a talented Owsley program and has a lot of young players with high ceilings. Addison makes the most of her opportunities on offense and is a good defender. She has the tools to become an impact player and should as her role grows over the next couple of seasons.
