Prep Girls Hoops sees players across the state as well as chatting up with college and local high school and AAU coaches to find out how players are doing and who are standing out in their groups. Here are a half dozen that made an impact in the update.
Riley had some bright spots in fall league and was a real threat from beyond the arc. Cracking the top 50 is an accomplishment in any class especially in this top heave sophomore class. Riley rose from #83 to # 50 by just playing hard whenever she is on the court. Her efforts should pay off in some wins for Howard as they eye a state championship.

Sometimes it can be as simple as dropping a line in the Twitter DM. We got to see more of Whitley via video and after some conferring with several coaches Whitley got a huge boost from #79 to #20. Her skill level and length played a large role in influencing the rise as did her athleticism for her size. At 6’2″ she runs the floor like a guard and finishes pretty well in the lane. As we see more of her perimeter game manifest I can see her stock continuing to rise.

Ava has had solid play this summer and it translated well as she stood out in the GC Super Scrimmage. She rose from #77 to #43 of her her team play, precision passing and her ability to control the flow of the game. She showed some good no-look passes and although you may not get the lightning speed or the high flying theatrics, you will get consistency every time she plays.
Sania is a very athletic guard making the rise from #71 to #35. She has a good pull up jumper with nice form, she also runs the floor well. She’s able to play some point when needed but seems more effective et the two guard.
Maisie appeared overmatched in the SGGC Combine as she dominated in the inside the entire camp. She is adjusting to the Mustangs uptempo long range and attack style and the Mustangs are adjusting to her bang out the paint to submission style. While both are adjusting well as Maisie rose from #49 to # 24. She is a weapon the BMac will need when season play begins.
Mary rose twenty spots from #34 to #14 as she has improved significantly from her freshman year. She is becoming a true leader on the court and her skill level which was already good has gone to another level. If she continues to develop at this pace she can crack the top 10.
