Several tournaments taking place all around America with a whole lot of talent and a whole lot of college coaches on the sidelines watching. These are some of the best players that I saw from afar on this Friday and Saturday.
Devon Carlile Devon Carlile 5’7″ | PG Dallas Center-Grimes | 2025 State IA started off her live period weekend with a bang by recording 8 made three pointers in her Waukee Jam teams win on Friday. Carlile is an efficient point guard who controls pace and the play of the game to a T, whenever the ball is in her hands. She always has the ability to knock down shots on rotation and that was no different in this contest. The only difference was that her teammates noticed early on that she was feeling it from long range and kept feeding her the ball, keeping her shooting hand hot throughout the entirety of the game. Something you love to see from a player who is dedicated to the sport and puts a lot of work into her craft.

It seems like every weekend now I am writing about Nakia Ollivierre Nakia Ollivierre 5’9″ | PG Waterloo West | 2026 IA and for good reason. Nakia has been putting up some more big numbers this weekend for her Pure Prep AAU team. Over her first three games of this weekend she is averaging 20.6 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 5 APG, and 2 SPG while leading her team to an undefeated 3-0 record. In these games she is scoring on all three levels at a consist rate, finding open teammates when she draws a help defender, and is showing that she is hands down the best player on the floor when she is out there competing. She is going to keep riding this momentum into summer and all the way into the school season at this rate. Something I can’t wait to see.

KeaOnna Worley KeaOnna Worley 5’4″ | PG Prairie | 2027 State IA is another fast and shifty point guard that I have mentioned a good amount over these past few months. This weekend she is playing up and competing with her 15U Lady Martin Bros team, showing everyone an example of what it’s like to be a point guard with an elite scoring ability along with some great distributing skill. To start off the weekend Worley was the point guard every coach dreams of. A player who got her team into the right spots, ran in transition, and had an excellent stat line of 5 points and 8 assists. This summer in high school ball everyone is going to see what Worley can do and I can’t wait. If you have been following her the past few seasons you are well aware as to what she can bring to the table, now all that is left is to go out there and do it! Something I know she can’t wait for.

Journey Houston Journey Houston 5’11” | CG Davenport North | 2025 State IA has put together a very nice weekend thus far for her All Iowa Attack EYBL team at EYBL Session II. The highlight most likely being her game winning drive and layup to beat Kia Nurse EYBL early on Saturday afternoon. Houston is the real deal. Has been the real deal. Will be the real deal. She is the definition of a hooper who can really do it all for her team. She has the ability to will her teams to victory and pull everyone through a lot when things get challenging. She is one of the best overall players out of Iowa, throughout all class and I think this weekend is a perfect example of why. She is competing against some of the best young talent in the country, on a sponsored circuit, and still killing it. Nuff said.

I started off this article talking about Devon Carlile Devon Carlile 5’7″ | PG Dallas Center-Grimes | 2025 State IA and how she made 8 three pointers in her contest on Friday night. Well Alexis Hecht Alexis Hecht 5’8″ | SG Wamego | 2026 State KS didn’t make 8 three’s on Saturday morning for her ETG Midwest team but she did make 6. Giving her an overall stat line of 32 points (6-11 from three), 3 assists, and 4 steals. Pretty impressive performance in a 84-55 win. I was not too familiar with Hecht’s game until now but she is a flamethrower from deep with the ability to get hot in the blink of an eye, as you could tell from the stat line above. This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to ETG. ETG Midwest is built with some extremely skilled and promising young talents. I’m excited to see what each of their teams can do over the rest of this AAU season, leading into the school year, especially Hecht.
