The Mustangs look like they want to play fast and get up and down the floor every possession, to top it off, they are coming full court pressure for 32 minutes. This style is sure to p**s some coaches off irritate some coaches that want to get into their half court sets and play at a WNBA pace. They have a roster that can pull it off as long as they stay out of foul trouble. As the WCAC coaches will have to adjust to Ron, so will the WCAC referees who aren’t used to all that running either.
Key players:
Zhen is officially a “shot blocker”. Yes we’ve seen her blocking shots before but, that’s her thing now. I can envision her getting a couple of triple-doubles that include blocks this season. She is attacking the basket and even got a little flashy over the weekend with a reverse layup under pressure.
LaNae’ Corbertt
LaNae’ Corbertt
From the official roster it’s spelled LaNae’ Corbertt. Now that we got that out of the way LaNae’ is a powerful force inside and there are a couple of WCAC matchups that I’m excited to see her go up against this season as she will be matching strength for strength. She is relentless in the paint and makes her free throws when fouled.

Vanessa will be a x-factor for the Mustangs. She would be a superstar in most programs, here there’s a chance teams will overlook her which will be a mistake. She will make teams pay for playing off of her to help as she can do so much. She is strong, can shoot, has a good handle and is a surprisingly good rebounder because she elevates so high.

Qandance is a freshman but one that will make an impact which is rare in the top half of the WCAC. She does a lot of things well like hit the three and get to the basket. Once she gets used the the physicality of high school ball and realizes that she’s not a freshman but a ball player with the same ability as everyone else on the floor, she can be the difference between WCAC Quarter Finalist and WCAC Champion.

Mary added another layer with an experienced point guard on the floor. The question was answer who plays the point with Maddie on the floor and Maddie slid off the ball creating a perimeter threat with her shooting. Mary got in the lane with ease, her size had her kicking it out after the defense collapsed but, she also showed that she can stop and pop a floater at any point in her drive.
Maise Crowley
Maise Crowley
It was a headscratcher as to why Maise rarely played under Frank, I expect things to change under Ron. She can contribute to any WCAC team and with the Mustangs style of play, playing time shouldn’t be an issue because, players that are playing hard enough are going to need a break at some point. Maise could potentially challenge for a starting spot, I doubt any spot is safe with this roster.
