She was able to get to her spot on the perimeter for her jumper, finishing with both hands at the rim making some difficult shots in the process. She finished the game 9-13 for 18 points that looked more like 30 points on film!

Vanessa showed her dominance on a nice eight point run of her own. She shot the three well and sliced the lane after a steal beating all five players to the basket for a layup. Defensively she made it seem like the Mustangs had too many players on the court as she was everywhere the ball was.

Vanessa is one of the most physical guards around. When she attacks she dishes out as much punishment as she receives and absorbs it while making plays. She is an excellent finisher and has a nice outside shot. She has the skill to play at the high post or with her back to the basket and she can defend every position effectively.

Vanessa was a MVP candidate having her name mentioned by several people for the award. She got better in each round as the Mustangs were in control for about 95% of this tournament. She had a way unofficial 25 points in the championship game which included a buzzer beater at the half. Vanessa showed that she can control a game and it’s going to be fun watching her senior year as she will be looked to for leadership.
