Zhen’s triple threat of scoring, rebounding and shot blocking was consistent all through the tournament and led to her winning the tournament MVP. Her interior presence in the championship game was pivotal in the Mustangs ability to take control of the game. She has stepped up on both ends shooting at a very high percentage. She long and is an exceptional shot blocker and finisher and played a great tournament.

Defensively Qandace has been terrific jumping the passing lanes and finishing on the break. She seems to always be open on the perimeter and has the range behind the arc to knock down shots. She gets her hands on a lot of passes and if that was a stat she probably led the tournament in deflections. She is gifted enough to score in double figures without trying hard and can dominate games if she went all out.

Meghan was bothered in the championship game early by the Mustangs length. She adjusted and stretched the floor knocking down a couple of mid range shots and a three. This opened up her dropping in the paint and going on a big run. She is using her left inside more and her touch in the lane was really good the entire tournament.

Ivanna was tremendous throughout the tournament. She averaged 29 ppg in the first two games on the tournament but had a slow start in the championship game while still dropping 25 points. She has three point range and reeled off five of them in the finale, but she also is an excellent finisher with a high motor. With a victory Ivanna would have been the tourney MVP.
Alicia was masterful in the Mt. Zion Prep game. The Roadrunners have a championship roster with her on the floor. This is not a slight to any coaching decisions but I wouldn’t take Alicia, Nadeya Regala Nadeya Regala 5’9″ | CG Elizabeth Seton | 2025 State MD or Emma NuQuay Emma NuQuay 5’9″ | PG Elizabeth Seton | 2025 State MD out of the game unless they were tired or in foul trouble. She scored 18 points and 5 boards in their 3 point loss and it appeared that she had more left in her tank after the final buzzer.

Jniya is fun to watch. Her first step is a blur to my camera so I can only imagine what defenders must go through. She was “that girl” in her first two games averaging 25 ppg. She was held to 17 points against McNamara who were geared up to stop her. She has established herself over the past two seasons and should be recognized as one of the to players in the region.
Monet was money on the floor. No team that St. Frances played had an answer for her and she gave Bullis fits in the semi-final game scoring 21 points in their overtime loss. She shot the ball well, made her free throws, rebounded and added a couple of steals with zero turnovers. She made me and others believers after her tournament showing.
The Tigers pushed Bullis to the limit and had a 13 point lead midway in the fourth quarter. Jaeda led the game with 31 points going 6 for 7 from beyond the arc. She was pretty much unstoppable and left it all on the floor for her final high school game.
Vanessa was a MVP candidate having her name mentioned by several people for the award. She got better in each round as the Mustangs were in control for about 95% of this tournament. She had a way unofficial 25 points in the championship game which included a buzzer beater at the half. Vanessa showed that she can control a game and it’s going to be fun watching her senior year as she will be looked to for leadership.
Zoe was extremely consistent throughout the tournament. She controlled the paint and owned whoever was in there with her. I was kind of hoping for them to make the championship game just so that I could see more of her. I got a new level of respect for the Panthers because of her and what they bring back next year with Edwards, Amora Alston Amora Alston 5’1″ | PG St. Frances Academy | 2025 State MD , Dahni Suggs Dahni Suggs 6’2″ | PF St. Frances Academy | 2026 State MD and Jacara Spencer Jacara Spencer 6’1″ | SF St. Frances Academy | 2027 State MD . I think the semi-final game was a breakout game for this team to show them what it means to go all out, and they will be hard to beat next season. I think they were a better team after that game than before it started.
