Free Report: Rankings Release Class Of 2028 Top10

In this article:
The Kansas Class of 2028 went from “watch list” status to the inaugural rankings. There are now 70 total athletes included in the rankings.
Athletes, coaches, and parents can use this link for an explanation of the rankings process. https://prepgirlshoops.com/how-we-rank/
You can also check out this post from last month in which I describe some other variables that I take into consideration in my rankings process. https://prepgirlshoops.com/2024/10/decks-deep-dive-pgh-kansas-fall-plan/
Ranked and unranked athletes are encouraged to claim or create profiles, which can be accomplished by using the following link: https://prepgirlshoops.com/prospect-index/ Athletes can claim or create profiles for free; however, Prep Girls Hoops is a pay site, so a subscription is necessary to see the complete rankings and reports.
HOWEVER, I have made this individual report a “Free Report” so everyone should be able to access it without having to subscribe to the site. We don’t do this often, so I hope you will take advantage of it and share it with as many people as possible.
It is important to remember that these early rankings are used to welcome Kansas Athletes to the Prep Network family and to begin the process of putting names out there for college coaches who subscribe to our site.
There are very few stats to go along with this group and am active social media presence played a key role in this first set of rankings. Athletes in this era must be self-promoters at times and these 10 have started the process off correctly.
Numerous athletes will be added to the rankings by the time this class hits their senior year. However, it is always my intention that players won’t be dropped unless they move out of state or quit playing basketball completely.
Positions in the rankings will fluctuate and Prep Girls Hoops attempts to update rankings three to six times a year. In the words of Randy Savage “The Cream Always Rises To The Top!”
Please feel free to reach out to me with players I might be missing. Athletes, parents, and coaches can send DMs on X @KSScoutDeck or email me deckscoutks@gmail.com. Please remember I will NOT respond to negative emails or messages.
Here is a quick look at the first Top Ten athletes in the Kansas Class of 2028. I will be sure to check rosters this prep season for impact freshmen and watch this Class of 2028 compete in club ball.

Davis debuts in the rankings at No. 2 overall. She is a physical post player who competes with KC Hustle during the club season. She has a professional looking social media account which shows she is serious about playing collegiate basketball, which is half the battle.
Braelyn Blackwill

Quinter | 2028
State
KS
, 5’5”, SG, Quinter, ‘28
Quinter’s Blackwill is ranked No. 3 overall. I have scouted Blackwill during one of her club practices. She travels over 250 miles to compete for the Missouri Phenom. If that’s not dedication, I am not sure what is. Her club team played in Nationals last season, so she knows how to win. She could turn out to be a big-time facilitator and scorer for the Bulldogs.
Chesney Marshall

Graham begins her PGH journey in the No. 5 position overall. She is longer than her height and plays an aggressive style of ball. She can shoot it from deep and run the floor. Graham already has plenty of film posted to her social media account, which goes a long way at such a young age.
Lailah Boyd

KS
, 6’0”, PF, Olathe North, ‘28
The 6-foot Boyd enters the rankings in the No. 6 slot. She plays club ball with Della Lamb. Her size will make her a commodity that college coaches will have interest in. She is a solid defender and she has a passion for the game as evidenced by her social media account.
Sophia Wichman

Hayden | 2028

, 5’8”, PF, Hayden, ‘28
Hayden’s Wichman was on the previous watch list but enters the rankings at No. 7 overall. She is a multi-sport prospect. I have scouted her on the basketball and volleyball courts, and her athleticism shines on both. She plays club ball with Missouri Phenom’s Topeka-based squad.
Jenna Schmeidler

Hays | 2028
State
KS
, 5’6”, PG/SG, Hays, ‘28
Schmeidler is ranked No. 8 overall. She is a plus-ball handler who can play the point or serve as a shooting guard. She can score from deep, and she is one of the few athletes in this class with a HUDL account already.
Hailey Caryl
Hailey
Caryl
5'10" | PF
Topeka | 2028
State
KS
, 5’10”, PF, Topeka High, ‘28
Topeka High’s Caryl begins her rankings journey at No. 9 overall. I saw her compete in a Pre-National tournament club practice. She is a physical athlete who enjoys driving to the basket. She is not afraid of drawing contact. One aspect of her game I want to watch closely is how effective she is at the free throw line after drawing that contact.
Devin Splittorff

Blue Valley | 2028
State
KS
, 5’9”, PG, Blue Valley, ‘28
Rounding out the first Top 10 is Blue Valley’s Splittoff. She is long and athletic. She can run an offense from the point but has the size that she could also offer offense in the paint. When I get a chance to see her play in person I want to see how she rebounds and handles pressure defense. She plays club ball with MOKAN Girls Hoops.
