Here is a look at the new top ten in the Kansas Class of 2028.

[player_tooltip player_id='898167' first='Braelyn' last='Blackwill'], 5'7”, SG, Quinter, ‘28

Quinter's Blackwill is the new top-ranked athlete in the Kansas Class of 2028. She was previously ranked No. 3 overall. She finished with an outstanding freshman season. She has all-around ball skills that will only improve with age and gained experience. She scored 15.5 points per game for the Bulldogs. She also averaged 6.7 rebounds, 4.3 steals, and 2.7 assists per contest.

[player_tooltip player_id='817014' first='Jenna' last='Schmeidler'], 5'6”, PG, Hays, ‘28

Schmeidler jumped from No. 8 overall to No. 2. I saw this freshman play in the Class 5A State Tournament and was impressed with her game. She averaged 16 points per game and shot an eye-popping 90 percent from the free-throw line. She already has all the intangibles college coaches want to see in a leader. I also get the sense she is a loyal youngster who will make a college decision and stick with it.

[player_tooltip player_id='899198' first='Kaelyn' last='Boss'], 5'8”, CG, Osage City, ‘28

Osage City's Boss was one of the biggest movers in the ranking. She parlayed an outstanding freshman season in an increase of 32 spots in the rankings. She is ranked No. 3 overall after being ranked No. 35. She could easily be ranked No. 1 overall. It was difficult to pick between the top three. Boss might be the best pure scorer of the top three, but the other two have an advantage over her on the defensive end. She won all kinds of accolades after her freshman campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id='898363' first='Hailey' last='Caryl'], 5'10”, PF, Topeka High, ‘28

Caryl is ranked No. 4 overall and had one of the most impactful freshman seasons for a post. She is very physical and can score from the paint. She runs the floor well and makes opposing teams pay for fouling her. Her role as a top scorer will increase as she moves forward in the Topeka High program. She is a gritty athlete who is extremely competitive.

[player_tooltip player_id='898858' first='Hailey' last='Schmidtlein'], 6'0”, PF, Hayden ‘28

Schmidtlein is a multi-sport prospect who very well have a tough decision of which sport to play in college. She moved from No. 11 to No. 5 overall in the PGH rankings. She is also the No. 1 ranked athlete in her class on Prep Dig Kansas. She can record a double-double every time she takes the floor. She runs the floor like a greyhound chasing the Easter Bunny!

[player_tooltip player_id='894521' first='Sarai' last='Graham'], 5'4”, SG, Derby, ‘28

Derby's Graham is ranked No. 6 overall. She is can score from deep and her role for the Panthers will also get more significant moving forward. She loves shooting from deep and converted on 38 three-point field goal attempts as a freshman. She made five three-pointers in one game for Derby and will be chasing down game, season, and career records for a deep and talented program.

[player_tooltip player_id='883539' first='Chesney' last='Marshall'], 5'8”, PG/SG, Oakley, ‘28

Marshall is ranked No. 7 overall in the new rankings. She had a solid freshman season for the Plainsmen. She scored 10.9 points per game and averaged four rebounds. She also collected 2.1 assists and 2.6 steals per contest. Marshall can also do damage from deep. She made 31 three-point field goals and shot a respectable 32 percent from behind the arc.

[player_tooltip player_id='913069' first='Lailah' last='Boyd'], 6'0”, PF, Olathe North, ‘28

Boyd is ranked No. 8 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028. Boyd was a role player for Olathe North last season. North has one of the top-ranked scoring athletes in the Class of 2026. Boyd chipped in 5.1 points and 6.4 rebounds per game during her freshman season.

[player_tooltip player_id='934573' first='Kaylee' last='Weltmer'], 5'10”, PF, Smith Center, ‘28

Weltmer jumped up from No. 12 overall to No. 9 overall. She is a multi-sport athlete out west. She scored 7.8 points per game and grabbed 7.5 rebounds per contest. She has the skills to make a run at averaging a double-double throughout the season in the future.

[player_tooltip player_id='995680' first='Alex' last='Dinsmore'], 5'11”, SG/PF, Derby, ‘28

Dinsmore is ranked No. 10 overall. She is a physical and long athlete who did not play a ton as a freshman for Derby. The Panthers have a talented and experienced frontcourt, so she will have to continue to grind for playing time. She chipped in 3.2 points and 2.4 rebounds per game for the Panthers. Her skills will improve just by competing at practice with solid prep and club teammates.
