Perimeter Players Off and Running at Roses Classic

Technically, Division I schools are not permitted to be out until Friday, but that didn't stop the action from getting underway at the Run 4 Roses Classic Tournament at the Kentucky Fairgrounds and Exposition Center. Whether it was penetrating and finding open teammates, to finishing a nice little reverse layup in traffic, to burying a pull-up 3-pointer from the top of the key in transition, she was dialed in and focused. I've been a big fan of hers for the last couple of years, and she continues to play at a high level. She is extremely long, fluid, fast, and somewhat bouncy, plus she plays with a great deal of effort at both ends of the floor. She can sit down and defend the ball, plus she affects passing lanes defensively with her length and quickness. Offensively, she has a nice mid-range pull-up, and she can attack the basket to finish inside. She is very physical at the point of attack, and she can use her ball skill to get defenders off-balance and on her hip, drawing a lot of opportunities to get to the free throw line. She is playing with a lot of intent this grassroots season, looking to bring attention to her game, plus she has been very effortful at the defensive end of the floor. She has really nice length at her height, speed &amp; quickness, plus she has gotten progressively stronger. She has nice touch around the perimeter, she's a good odd-angle finisher around the basket, and she possesses a smooth mid-range pull-up. She is long, wiry-strong, smooth, fluid, and even somewhat bouncy. She has touch to the 3-point line, an improved handle, and she can use her size in the mid-post, defensively, and on the boards. She is strong, physical, and quietly tough-nosed on the perimeter. She takes contact well, she can finish inside, plus she's an aggressive defender and also rebounds her position. She can handle it some and initiate the offense, she can create for teammates, and she is shooting it much better outside. In the parts of her two games I was able to see, she showed off her speed, her lefty perimeter stroke, plus she was great knocking down floaters and runners off the bounce. She had a fantastic Winter in 2024-2025 for the Lady Trojans, and I would expect a repeat performance this coming year. But what impressed me most is that she was doing it against a couple of tough grassroots opponents earlier today.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
