ADM Released and Districts are coming

For Class 6A and 5A, the bulk of the schedule has still not been set. But with last night's release of ADM, and next week's district meetings, we will soon have districts and then schedules for Class 6A and 5A.

There are a couple big changes coming to 5A. The current ADM (which is subject to change) have bumped Newcastle and Bishop McGuinness up to 5A. Newcastle last year was a 4A quarterfinalist and return a lot of production. Not to mention the addition of super sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='913548' first='Jordyn' last='Richardson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='913569' first='Amara' last='King'] to their already loaded roster. They likely would've been among the 4A favorites in the deep class, and now from a talent standpoint likely are arguably the most talented team in Class 5A.

Potentially joining Newcastle in 5A is Bishop McGuinness. The ADM numbers lists them exactly as the 64th biggest school in the state. Youth and injuries led to an up and down season for the Lady Irish. But if OU team camp was any indication, McGuinness is ready to shake up the Class 5A picture. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='913600' first='Acelynn' last='Tucker'] is a menace on both ends of the court. And they have a three headed attack alongside her, with junior [player_tooltip player_id='593245' first='Mariah' last='Conally'] and sophomore newcomer [player_tooltip player_id='917333' first='Kashlynn' last='Cooper'].

Recent stalwarts El Reno, Carl Albert, Booker T Washington, Del City are also expected to be at the top of the class. Midwest City has an exciting blend of young talent and returning production. While keep an eye on East Central to be an east side dark-horse. The distribution of districts, especially on the west side, will lead to box office worthy type match ups this winter.

It's a new era for Millwood basketball as a sleeper team in Class 3A. Spearheading their potential charge is Carey, one of the top defenders in the state. She's quick as an on the ball or off the ball defender, with great attention to detail. Expect her to be one of the top havoc causers in Oklahoma, with plenty of 3+ steals games to her credit this winter. Offensively, she's an unselfish player who makes good passes. While also scoring in the flow of the offense when she played with her summer team, Unity. Carey plays with fantastic energy and it should be contagious for her Lady Falcons teammates.

In recent years Oklahoma has consistently produced high major talent. Next up is Douglas, who already has varsity experience with GRIND Prep. And played at the 16U Girls EYBL level with ProSkills. Her outstanding play against older competition has already caught the attention of college coaches. With offers from Syracuse, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Houston and recently Wichita State. She's part of a fantastic basketball family, with her older brother "Bubba D" being one of the top 2028 prospects on the boys side in Oklahoma. Saniya is athletic and an impact player on both ends of the court.

Another already elite talent, Henderson is already an absolute bucket. She's already such a talented scorer that earlier this month Baylor offered her. Expect the points to flow for this winter at Midwest City. With an outstanding handle and feel for the game. More than just skillful, she already looks battle tested against varsity level physicality, as she was a standout at OU team camp.

The defending 4A champs will have strength in numbers with their incoming freshmen. Top among them is Dooley a speedy guard. Complete with a varsity ready all around game. Already has a strong feel for the game on both ends of the court. Look for her to make the right plays and bring competitiveness in her minutes as LCS chases another Gold Ball. Setting the stage for an even bigger impact as a sophomore.

Another instant impact freshman, look for Jones to play a big role for Deer Creek. A handful off the bounce, with good footwork, balance and finishing ability at the rim. Equally capable as a shooter from distance. She's another great example of the exciting incoming freshman in the 405. Deer Creek is one of the Class 6A teams that could take a big step this year and Jones has the skill level to be a catalyst.

Fort Gibson is a program with one of the strongest traditions in Oklahoma. The Lady Tigers also just graduated an outstanding senior point guard, who's headed to Northeastern State. While it might be early for Hyde to fully fill the shoes of Addy Whiteley, Hyde is still one of the top freshmen to watch. She has outstanding handles, while also being a quick and fast lead guard. Should be among the more exciting freshmen in Class 4A.

Another incoming LCS freshman, Michalec is a tenacious athlete. Rebounded at a high level in 15U AAU play and overall impressed with the physicality she played with. LCS is replacing forward production, so the hustling and battling mentality of the incoming freshman could be her ticket to early minutes and production.
