Here are a few athletes out of Iowa that have either recently committed or they have recently been offered to compete at the next level following their impressive AAU seasons this Spring/Summer. Every player listed has shown off their skill-set over the years with their varsity high school team and that has helped them prove to recruiters that they have what it takes to suit up following their high school careers.

Waldorf & Iowa Central are two programs that have emerged as of late in the recruiting process for [player_tooltip player_id='896069' first='Reese' last='DeVooght']. DeVooght is coming off of a respectable AAU season with her [program_tooltip program_id='712595' first='Kingdom' last='Hoops'] program out of Des Moines and she is ready to make some more noise within a new high school system over the next 6-8 months. For her senior year, DeVooght is going to compete with DSM Christian. This step up is not only going to help DeVooght as an overall prospect in recruitment but it will also help the DSM Christian program, that already happens to possess some other talented individuals at each position. This move and relationship could be a major key to success for both parties if they stay locked in mentally and take it 1 game at a time.

I believe that [player_tooltip player_id='833953' first='Callie' last='Hales'] is going to make it to the collegiate level and produce at a pretty thorough rate before you know it as a Point Guard. Hales checks off a lot of boxes. Strong, physical, skilled, coordinated, and smart. She understands in-game situations and that helps her thrive in meaningful moments. This past few months Hales has grabbed a few offers from the D2 and D3 levels across the Midwest. Most notably D2 - Upper Iowa and D2 - Wayne State. With two more years of varsity ball still left to play, this is all very promising. Hales is only going to get better with more experience and we will see that first hand over the next two seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='672168' first='Mylee' last='Stiefel'] of Burlington High School received an offer from D2 - Quincy (IL) to start the month of August moving into her last year on the high school varsity floor. Stiefel is a shifty and creative prospect. She plays off of two feet offensively and she is really crafty when it comes to getting an open look for herself or another teammate. There is no doubt that Stiefel is a skilled hooper. The biggest questions she will have to answer at the next level are about strength. She will need to put on some weight over the next twelve months if she wants to see the floor at the collegiate level sooner rather than later. The college game is much quicker and much more physical, both factors that play a vital role. With that being said, I know that Stiefel is very motivated so I don't think this is going to be a problem in the grand scheme of things.

[player_tooltip player_id='896746' first='Ella' last='Thornton'] committed to Iowa Western last week and now she is ready to put together a Winter to remember for her last go-around with Treynor High School. Thornton moves around right now at the high school level but in college, she will need to play more of a CG depending on her teams lineup. Thornton does stand at just over 5'11 so she could be placed in that SF/4 spot mix but again, it all comes down to the system at hand. Ideally, she will be versatile as a 3 and be able to post smaller defenders up that might try to matchup with her in given situations. For now though, we should see another impactful season out of Thorton and Company. Treynor should be in the State conversation once again come 2026 but we will just have to wait and see.

[player_tooltip player_id='766449' first='Delainey' last='Durr'] was injured part of this past AAU season but that didn't stop her from coming back stronger than ever. Door played so well in the past and when she returned that she recently took a visit to Allegheny College in Pennsylvania, grabbing another offer to the pile she already possesses. Durr does the simple things right, she doesn't force action, she can lead as a pass-first PG, but she also makes some notable plays while trying to score the rock. She can defend her own position pretty well and that is going to help her translate to the next level, once she gets there following this upcoming Winter. This is someone that doesn't need to be motivated but anything else but herself. If she sticks with that thought process, who knows how far she could take things.
