I-35 Oklahoma Showcase Notes (Part 2)

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The fall I-35 Showcase is always a great event when it comes to Oklahoma. Many of the top Oklahoma players come as well as players from neighboring states. This Saturday was no different. Enjoyed the day of watching players and taking notes on some, I know others being the first time. Strong mid-range pull up jumper while driving the baseline that is tough to stop. If the defender steps out to guard the pull up she has a nice change of gear getting to the rim. Great body control on the drives making some very tough shots at the rim.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Scrappy tough defender is the best way to describe Zoe defense. Great physical size that moves great off the ball creating scoring opportunities. Nice shot from 15ft that was very consistent all day. Active player on the offensive boards collecting off putbacks in both games. Good 2-man game action in 3/3 play. Holding the screen just long enough to create a nice passing gap on the roll. Soft hands on the roll finishing strong off the glass.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A very versatile player on defense. Quick and long enough to guard on the outside but physical enough to bang against the post on the inside. A player known across the high school ranks as a tough defender. On Saturday that held true. It was on the offensive end that was impressive. Tough hard nose drives in the 1-1 station transferred over when playing 5-5. A guard that when she turns the corner it is straight to the goal.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A smooth shooter that knocked down the outside shot that opened the driving lanes. A nice change of speed with the ball and feet froze defenders all day as she got the paint again. Strong finisher at the goal that protected the ball from being deflected while changing body angles to avoid the shot from being blocked. The threat of her outside shot keeps the defense honest open gaps for her to attack.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On defense her quick lateral movement and hands gave ball handlers trouble in the front court. Long stride at the rim and great body control finishes the layup. Showed the outside shot off the catch. Hands ready, feet step and smooth shooting motion resulting in makes. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The guard was consistently moving off the ball with backdoor cuts for layups. Nice rebounds on defense with a immediate eyes up the floor looking for teammates. Tough moves and finishes in 1-1. Nice spacing and good vision in 3-3 play especially reading the 2-man game off the wing. Showed understanding of reading next level defense making great decision on the read. Never seemed to force the shot took what defense gave her shot or kickout to shooter. Outside shooter with deep range for a point guard.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">In 5 on 5 play she attacked the rim hard when the gap opened up getting to the paint. Pushed the ball in the open floor with eyes up the floor looking for the rim runners. Tough baseline drives using her last step to get her body between glass and shot blocker. Steady defense with quick hands getting many deflections throughout the day.
