Headliners Invitational Cheat Sheet: Point Guards

The Headliners Invitational Showcase was a groundbreaking experience in 2023--it's back and better than ever. My definition of a prospective showcase includes three elements: 1) College caliber players, 2) College Coaches, and 3) Media Exposure from a respected source in the high schools girls basketball recruiting arena. The Headliners Invitational checks all three boxes and then some. 19 colleges from D2, D3, NAIA, NCCAA, and JUCO college programs in Michigan have pre-registered to recruit at this [program_tooltip program_id='923712' first='Prepare' last='2 Win Basketball'] Showcase. College coaches who have pre-registered to attend the event will be provided a hard copy recruiting packet with all the information necessary to evaluate during the event and contact prospects afterwards. The event format is EXACTLY what I believe needs to be present to 1) Thoroughly evaluate a prospect, 2) Fully demonstrate a prospects recruitable qualities, and 3) Cultivate a connection with college coaches. Everything about this showcase is intentional and nothing is being done in a haphazard manner. College coaches will lead prospects during the skill stations and coach the players during games. Maximum ball touches have been built into this event through stations, 3v3, and 5v5 play. There will be a Headliners Invitational MVP selected for both sessions and FREE access to film following the event on SnipBack. The anticipation is building, so...without further ado, let's take a sneak peak at the point guard prospects competing during session one at the [program_tooltip program_id='923712' first='Prepare' last='2 Win Basketball'] "Headliners Invitational Showcase"!    Elise is a showcase veteran--she's performed at a high level many times under the spotlight. She took home PGH Expo First Team honors and has continued to climb the rankings. Elise can do it all--three-point shooting, poised ball-handling, precision passing, high defensive IQ, high motor, and good instincts without the ball. She's a court general I expect college coaches to notice at the Headliners Invitational.     Heidi is a point guard you can't help but like because she competes with an all-out effort and hustle that makes her very impactful on both sides of the ball. Heidi has an extra gear and she chases down rebounds to create extra scoring chances. Heidi has a smooth stroke from the perimeter and works hard to apply pressure on defense. I'm excited to see her again at the Headliners Invitational on Sunday.     Sadie has twitchy speed and change of direction that can spin defenders like a top. She's scrappy and puts pressure on the ball. Sadie can score at all three levels and find open teammates when she penetrates gaps off the dribble. She'll be a crafty court general to watch at the Headliners Invitational on Sunday.     Remmi was a top performer at the PGH Freshman Showcase and she contributes in every phase of the game. Remmi's full throttle effort, court vision, passing, defensive pressure, shooting accuracy, shifty ball-handling, and downhill drives should surely catch attention during the Headliners Invitational on Sunday.     Alayna had a breakout travel season with [program_tooltip program_id='1244063' first='Great' last='Lakes Grind'] and I've had the opportunity to see her compete many times over the past few months. She's extremely competitive. Alayna buries three-pointers, facilitates the rock, and creates turnovers with her active defense. Her all-around impact will stand out at the Headliners Invitational on Sunday.     Chandler's game keeps growing on me the more I watch her play. She's an unselfish player who makes smart decisions with the ball, plays hard on both ends, and energizes her teammates. Chandler can light it up from three-point distance and I'm excited to watch her compete this Sunday at the Headliners Invitational.     Kendal is an excellent facilitator and pesky defender. She sets up teammates and gets downhill with a burst to score layups. Kendal made a great impression with [program_tooltip program_id='715424' first='The' last='Naturals'] during the travel season and I'm excited to see her compete at the Headliners Invitational on Sunday.     Avery is a local prospect from Charlotte who has shown plenty of promise as a next-level prospect during games at Northwood Team Camp the past two years. She's a feisty defender who creates space off the dribble and delivers accurate passes. Avery knocks down perimeter jumpers doesn't quin on a play. She's a player who could greatly benefit from competing in front of college coaches at the Headliners Invitational on Sunday.     Lindy is playing up against the high schoolers and I have full confidence that she'll fit right in. Lindy was one of the top middle schoolers during our first Headliners Invitational in 2023 and I am excited to have her back for round two! She has outstanding ball-handling control and forces turnovers with her pressure. Lindy can change directions on a dime, then bury smooth pull-up jumpers. She'll be a playmaker to watch this Sunday.     Nia is going to be a difference maker for Davision on both ends as a freshman and she's been proving that for months at different events. Her quickness and tight handles create space to drive, pass, or shoot. Nia applies immense pressure on the ball defensively and penetrates gaps with a burst off the dribble. She helps teammates get open looks and will be a point guard to watch at the Headliners Invitational on Sunday.
