Windermere Prep traveled west across I-4 on Friday night to face Tampa Catholic after both teams earned impressive first-round wins in what is arguably the toughest region in any classification. At 15–11 and 24–6 respectively, the Lakers and Crusaders are both top-25 teams statewide, battle-tested by demanding schedules throughout the season. Windermere Prep jumped out to an early 11–3 lead, but from that point forward the game largely felt like it tilted toward Tampa Catholic on its home floor — even as the teams traded ties and lead changes throughout a competitive second half. Now it's Tampa Catholic's turn to head east on I-4, where they'll face 1-seed Lake Highland Prep with a trip to the state tournament in Jacksonville on the line. Here's a look at the individual performances that stood out in this high-level region semifinal matchup:

After a slow start for TC, Kelsey flipped the game with her speed and defensive pressure. She attacked the baseline for scores, delivered a drive-and-kick assist to Cote for a three, and converted a big and-one to close the first half. Her ability to get downhill created constant pressure, and defensively she sparked the press with steals and deflections that led to easy buckets. You simply can't throw the ball near her without risk.

Ashley quietly dominated in the biggest moments. She drilled multiple deep, contested threes, scored off strong takes including a lefty scoop, and added a tough midrange jumper off a screen. Beyond scoring, she secured offensive rebounds, drew fouls, delivered a huge transition block while up four, and calmly hit clutch free throws late. Her poise and even-keeled demeanor allowed her to put up major numbers without forcing the action — a special performance.

Kimora impacted the game in multiple winning ways. She buried a deep three, scored on a turnaround in transition, and finished creatively with her left around size. She battled for an offensive rebound putback and later converted a key two-point take while Tampa Catholic managed the clock. Perhaps most importantly, she took a huge charge under a minute to go that prevented the game from tightening to 4 points — a momentum-saving play that showcased her toughness and awareness.

Lily delivered timely perimeter shooting, knocking down a corner three off a Kelsey assist before adding multiple threes later — including one in the fourth quarter that swung momentum. She also converted a steal into a transition bucket, showing awareness on both ends. Her shot-making stretched the defense and opened driving lanes. In the region final, her ability to hit big perimeter shots will again be crucial.

Jaz wasted no time setting the tone, knocking down an early wing three for the Lakers' first bucket and later burying a corner three off an inbounds action where she used the screen well as the passer. She hit another big three in the third quarter to briefly give Windermere Prep the lead, showing her confidence in momentum moments. The second half felt like she needed more touches, especially with how efficiently she was shooting it early. She's been a fun player to watch evolve over the years, and her continued growth as a perimeter scorer was evident again Friday night.

Eni's size and length immediately stood out as disruptors on both ends. She knocked down a smooth free-throw line jumper and followed it with a polished back-to-the-basket spin into an over the right shoulder finish, flashing skill to match her physical tools. Defensively, her length altered passing angles and made drives uncomfortable. When she's aggressive offensively, she adds another dimension to Windermere Prep's attack. Excited to see how she improves her game this summer and going into her Senior season

Joba's blend of strength and skill was on full display. She powered through contact for multiple and-ones, knocked down a 15–20 footer, stroked a three with confidence, and protected the rim with a big block that shifted momentum. Her energy and physicality were constant which was nice to see. With her size and expanding offensive package, she has the tools to become a very special player.

Yifan provided valuable offensive punch with a strong drive-and-one, a smooth spin finish, a lefty score, and a confident 10-foot pull-up. She played with composure and wasn't afraid of big moments. As a promising underclassman, her ability to create her own shot stands out. She projects as a key contributor for Windermere Prep moving forward.

Alayiah can control stretches of the game with her quickness and decision-making. She delivered a sharp touch pass to Joba for a bucket, scored on a runner, attacked off the bounce, and knocked down a three to keep the Lakers within striking distance. Tasked with guarding Sharpe for much of the night, she competed defensively while still creating offense. As a lead guard, her pace and ability to score or facilitate give her traits that can translate to the next level.

Mikayla made an early impact defensively, doing a strong job trying to contain Knox and forcing tough looks. Offensively, she added a baseline drive finish and showed her quickness in space. She's a guard who competes on both ends and embraces defensive assignments. With pieces graduating, she looks poised to step into an even larger role next season
