Results, summaries and box scores were scheduled to be posted&nbsp;<strong><a href="https://ighsau.org/news/class-2a-state-tournament-stats-and-scores" id="https://ighsau.org/news/class-2a-state-tournament-stats-and-scores">HERE</a></strong>&nbsp;throughout the event.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We thought it would be fun to put together an all-quarterfinal team from the 2A games.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here's a closer look at who landed on the squad:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='524262' first='Sydney' last='Doeschot'], 2026, G, Hinton: </strong>The Blackhawks took care of business on Tuesday, advancing to the semifinals with a thrilling, one-point victory against West Lyon, avenging a 45-44 loss to the Lions in December. Doeschot led a balanced Hinton offense with a game-high 15 points. She also grabbed 10 rebounds, handed out a half dozen assists and swiped a pair of steals. Doeschot's key contribution down the stretch came in the form of a defensive rebound that led to a go-ahead bucket with less than two minutes left in regulation.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1143197' first='Keely' last='Derochie'], 2027, F, Hinton:</strong> The junior forward didn't allow a frustrating shooting night affect her when it was time to deliver winning plays. With her team clinging to a one-point lead, Derochie blocked a potential game-winning hoop from West Lyon and grabbed the defensive rebound with five seconds remaining in regulation. The play sealed the quarterfinal victory. She hit a key basket to put her team up by two points with less than two minutes left, too. Derochie finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds, two blocks and an assist.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1795588' first='Channing' last='Johnson'], 2026, G, Denver: </strong>The Wayne State volleyball commitment showed again why some college basketball coaches are disappointed by her sport of choice for the next level. The senior, who led the Cyclones' volleyball team to the last two Class 2A state championships, netted a game-high 22 points in their quarterfinal hoops' win against Emmetsburg. She shot 4 of 10 from behind the arc and also yanked down 11 rebounds, handed out two assists and came up with a pair of steals. Johnson delivered in multiple categories when Denver put the game away late in the fourth quarter, scoring, rebounding, assisting and defending.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1312159' first='Caydence' last='Harmsen'], 2028, G, Rock Valley: </strong>Rock Valley won a rock fright with Regina Catholic Wednesday morning with Harmsen contributing in multiple ways. The sophomore guard scored 12 points, led the Rockets in rebounds and assists, and tied for the most blocks. Harmsen, who also played varsity volleyball, stood out in the second quarter when Rock Valley built a nine-point advantage. Her full skill set was on display as she scored, rebounded, assisted and defended during the stretch. Harmsen's trey late in the third quarter put the team up, 29-25, and it would not trail again.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='595157' first='Nora' last='Konz'], 2026, G, Treynor: </strong>With her team in the away uniforms often worn by the underdog, Konz made sure her senior season didn't end in the quarterfinals Wednesday afternoon. The guard came through with a game-high 20 points in a win against Central Lyon. She sank two of her three trey attempts, and added four rebounds and an assist. The Buena Vista volleyball commitment played a key role in an 13-2 run that spanned the second and third quarters.
