Being one of only eight teams to reach the state tournament ranks as a major accomplishment. Take a bow if you're competing in Des Moines this week. Cherish the memory no matter the result.

We thought it would be fun to put together an all-quarterfinal team from the 4A games.

Here's a closer look at who landed on the squad:

[player_tooltip player_id='832198' first='Macy' last='Meyer'], 2027, G, Dallas Center-Grimes: The Mustang junior was locked and loaded for Tuesday's matchup with Waverly-Shell Rock, scoring a team-best 17 points in 26 minutes. Meyer blistered the nets with 7 of 11 shooting from the floor, including a perfect 3 for 3 from behind the arc. The Northern Iowa commitment added three rebounds and a pair of steals. She splashed in a trey and converted a lay-up to give DCG a 5-0 lead, setting the stage for a memorable day. A Meyer triple with two minutes to play in the first half pushed the lead to 22, and the rout was on.

[player_tooltip player_id='883552' first='Braylyn' last='Birmingham'], 2028, G, Norwalk: The Warriors star announced her presence in leading them to the state semifinals as a freshman a year ago. Tuesday, Birmingham reminded folks just how much game she's got in a 26-point outburst during a quarterfinal victory against Central DeWitt. The sophomore drained all 10 of her foul shots while logging the entire 32 minutes. She pulled down 10 boards, and added two assists, two steals and two blocks. Birmingham scored three of her team's first four buckets and assisted on the other one, setting the tone for the winners. A pair of her free throws midway through the third put Norwalk ahead 12. The Sabers would get no closer than eight the rest of the way.

[player_tooltip player_id='777232' first='Melina' last='Snoozy'], 2027, G, Bishop Heelan: The Crusader star authored a state tournament performance on Tuesday that will be remembered forever by folks witnessing it. The junior exploded for 39 points on 17 of 26 shooting from the floor, including 5 for 8 behind the arc, leading Heelan to a decisive victory against North Polk. Snoozy also snared 12 rebounds, handed out a pair of assists and swiped two steals. The Comets hung tough until Heelan pulled away with a third-quarter run to go up 19 on a Snoozy lay-in midway through the period. She scored eight points during the spurt.

[player_tooltip player_id='582806' first='Trishelle' last='Miller'], 2026, G, Bishop Heelan: Miller played Robin to Snoozy's Batman during Tuesday's 25-point victory against North Polk. The senior guard dished out 13 assists to go with 15 points, fueled by 2 of 4 shooting from behind the arc. A South Dakota State commitment, Miller also contributed a pair of rebounds and a steal. As good as the 12th-grader is on offense, she might be better on the other end of the floor. The lock-down, on-ball defender spent the afternoon harassing a Central DeWitt backcourt that wins most of its battles.

[player_tooltip player_id='1795454' first='Mallie' last='Stoner'], 2026, G, Carlisle: This is s fun one. Stoner shined at the girls state basketball tournament during Tuesday's quarterfinal win against Clear Creek Amana, but the senior is committed to Iowa State softball. The multi-sport standout was the best of a balanced bunch that saw four Wildcats hit double figures in scoring. Stoner netted a team-high 16 points on 7 of 9 shooting from the field. She also grabbed 10 rebounds, handed out a couple of assists and swiped a steal. A key stretch in the third quarter saw Carlisle's lead balloon from seven to 11 points on a pair of Stoner lay-ups, one on a put-back.
