This has been an amazing year with so many milestones and accomplishments along the way. It's fitting that our young ladies in this district are heading to the Queen City to capture the gold ball. This field will host some exciting prospects that will surely be on the next level when it's all said and done.

How did we get here, you might ask? Let's take a minute to look at the Elite 8 scores prior to these matchups being set.

Knox Webb 45

Ensworth 41

CPA 52

Harpeth Hall 31

Knox Catholic 57

Lipscomb Academy 68

Hutchison 48

Father Ryan 43

Knox Webb will take on CPA in the semifinal game at 12:00 pm on 3/5.

Lipscomb will take on Hutchison at 3:30 in the semifinal game on 3/5.

As you can see, there were some close games that had a lot of back-and-forth action. Like I have been saying before, it's all about surviving and advance and the teams who executed down the stretch did just that.

When you look at the prospects in the field, you'd better believe there will be some solid action that will take center stage. Let's take a look at some ballplayers who will be tearing up the hardwood come Thursday.

CPA

This ballclub brings a talented and balanced attack into the final stretch. This team has veteran leadership, with both [player_tooltip player_id='514119' first='Merli' last='Routh'] and [player_tooltip player_id='513275' first='Lily' last='Morrow'] leading the charge. The future Trevecca tandem returns to the court to handle some unfinished business. Merli brings the speed and athleticism into play. She is a menace on the defensive end, wreaking havoc. Lily is a Swiss Army Knife, exploiting the mid-range in multiple ways. There is solid play from the 4 and 5 positions as well. [player_tooltip player_id='822235' first='Jane' last='Ellis'] is a prospect who can stretch the floor. She can attack from the outside or use her size as leverage inside and establish herself down low. [player_tooltip player_id='822224' first='Jayda' last='Robinson'] is a key cog in the middle, a solid finisher around the rim. [player_tooltip player_id='792678' first='Charley' last='Rae Hutchison'], a new addition to the team plays with such poise. A heady floor general who can score on all three levels and contribute in other statistical categories. A kid who sometimes doesn't get a lot of love, but just does the dirty work, is [player_tooltip player_id='636542' first='McMillan' last='Sweeney']. She does whatever is needed and plays solid minutes. Look for this team to come out strong. They came up short last season, and this year, they are ready and equipped to take their crack at obtaining the championship.

Lipscomb Academy

This team plays fast and hunts great shot attempts. Led by senior [player_tooltip player_id='513237' first='Ava' last='Jarrett'], this kid has stepped up even more this year, which is why she is a Miss Basketball nominee. She can knock down the 3-ball or take her defender off the dribble. She finds ways to exploit the defense, giving her squad an advantageous opportunity. [player_tooltip player_id='821870' first='Blake' last='Maple'], this kid just plays. A solid two-way player that can score from all three levels. She accesses the floor well and then counters anything that is taken away from her. She always seems to find a way to put the ball in the net. [player_tooltip player_id='822230' first='Brooklyn' last='Lowry'] is a solid prospect who can knock down shots from multiple spots and rebound. [player_tooltip player_id='1055728' first='Lane' last='Smith'] has had a strong sophomore campaign, where she has owned the boards and knocked down shots from both inside and outside the perimeter. [player_tooltip player_id='822231' first='Macey' last='Hunter'], another guard who has played solid, meaningful minutes. She is always in the right spot at the right time. Hitting clutch shots, playing solid D, she isn't afraid to step up when her number is called. [player_tooltip player_id='513231' first='Anna' last='Williams'], a size advantage down low, always seems to come through in tight game opportunities. Look for her to be a factor somehow down the stretch, coming up big. Lastly, look for Izzy Beasley to be a factor as well. She plays tough defense and rebounds the basketball at a high clip.

Knox Webb

Talented squad led by Clemson signee [player_tooltip player_id='513227' first='Meeyah' last='Green']. She and [player_tooltip player_id='1039164' first='Kyndall' last='Mays'] provide a solid 1-2 punch. She can break a defender down and get to the rim or draw two to make a timely kick for an open 3. Her ability to create off the dribble is second to none. She is a Miss Basketball finalist once again. An impressive feat in itself. Kyndall is a bruiser down low. She has done nothing but get better, putting in the work in the offseason. This kid owns the boards, finishes nicely around the rim, anchors the middle, and makes anything inside tough to do. The Lady Spartans have a host of complementary players who play their role to a T. Look for this squad to establish the tone early and showcase an elite attack.

Hutchison

Led by Penn signee [player_tooltip player_id='636393' first='Ava' last='Jones'], this balanced Hutchison squad is looking to get after it. Ava, a walking double-double, provides this Hutchison squad a solid foundational piece to work off of. She is also a nominee for Miss Basketball. Her ability to score the basketball inside opens up the outside for them to knock down shots. This team is balanced and really prides themselves on the defensive end. This team, as a collective, is tough to handle.

Now that you have a sneak peak at what's to come for Thursday, you better believe these games will be close. With a chance to go to the ship on the line, each team will be leaving it all on the court as they look to survive and advance. This will be an exciting Final Four. Make sure you tune in and check out som
