Adelaide Jernigan is fluid with the ball handling it all over the court, and she has a nice elevation with her jump shot being able to knock it down from anywhere. You can see her IQ on the court knowing how to move to create some space for herself or penetrate to create space for her teammates to get their own points. Her length is an asset on the other end of the court knocking the ball away and even showing off some shot blocking abilities, especially hustling back in transition.
Trista Charles is incredibly versatile and seems to get better every time I get to see her play. Her shot from deep is always nice to watch, but she isn’t simply handed those opportunities to put up the shot. She finds ways to get open moving and relocating on the court knowing how to shift the defense and create her own plays. She gets inside to do some rebounding, and she can guard any position on the court knowing how to body someone in the paint.
Highlights
Kylie Torrence has been expanding her role on the offensive side of the ball sealing off opponents on the block to show off her post moves and showing off some nice midrange jump shots. She can catch and shoot off the pass, or she can dribble herself to lose her defender and score some points. I think her wingspan continues to increase blocking shots in all areas of the court with her nice closeout on defense.
Samantha Shehan has become one of the automatic shooters for Lake Norman this season knocking down her long range jumpers. She has a quick release staying ready to put the shot up making it difficult for anyone to get close to blocking it. She flashes in the paint for passes, too, knowing how to move her body to score even if she needs to spin in the paint to get away from her opponent before scoring. She’s an asset on the boards as well grabbing rebounds for her team on both ends.
Highlights
Jamyrah Cherry has some nice footwork all over the court whether she is using her steps to fake out opponents or dominating the block with some post moves. Defenders need to keep up with her on all levels, though, as she can certainly knock it down from deep. She is aggressive on both ends of the court having her way on offense and making sure no one scores around her on defense. She is persistent going after rebounds, too.
Highlights
Morgan Thompson is averaging over 18 points a game, and that’s because she can score on any level. She knocks down shots from deep with ease, and she gets lost by defenders to be able to catch and shoot. She attacks the basket as well knowing when to take it all the way herself or dish it to her teammates as she draws defenders towards her.
Thompson’s teammate at Scotland, Alicia McClain Alicia McClain 5’9″ | SF Scotland | 2025 State NC , is also averaging double digits in points and over 11 rebounds a game doing a little bit of everything for her team. She can use some fakes to get open for her shot beyond the arc, or she can attack the basket finishing on either side of the rim. She elevates over her opponents for her jump shots, and her ability to block shots is almost a guaranteed thing every game.
