Madyson made her first appearance at the 695Hoops Family Reunion, and it was a successful one. She walked off with an MVP award after turning in a performance that was both solid and spectacular. She wowed the crowd with some seriously athletic finishes at the rim. She scored 15 points while showing off a strong handle and the ability to blow by defenders. She has transferred to Bishop McNamara and should be a player to watch in the WCAC.

Maddie has the confidence of a national player so it only makes sense she joins McNamara’s nationally ranked program.

This is a good move for Williams. As a multi level scorer who’s best with the ball on the wing, who is also developing into a strong scoring point guard once the game slows down for her. She’ll be ready for primetime minutes in a top tier program.

Madyson is staying in the WCAC but is taking her talents to “The Pike,” transferring from St. Mary’s Ryken to Bishop McNamara. There was a time when players couldn’t freely transfer within the conference, but times have certainly changed. This move has the potential to benefit both sides. Sporting News had Bishop McNamara ranked as the #2 team in the country before adding Madyson, who is currently the #2 ranked sophomore in the state.

Madyson will benefit from joining a nationally recognized program with plenty of talent around her, while the Mustangs add even more depth to an already loaded perimeter. Coach Ron James has shown in the past that he can successfully manage multiple talented guards at the same time, and he will be challenged to do it again with a plethora of high-level perimeter players at his disposal.

Madyson wasted no time announcing her arrival, opening the game by scoring every point for her team before the first round of substitutions. Her explosive start immediately grabbed the attention of everyone in the gym as my phone quickly filled with texts asking, “Who is she?” and “What school does she play for?”

Despite being a rising sophomore competing against a team of rising juniors, Madyson played with complete confidence. Her explosive first step consistently blew by defenders, creating clean driving lanes to the basket, while her ability to knock down the three-pointer kept defenses from sagging off. The highlight of the day came when she split a double team before finishing with a spectacular reverse layup using her inside hand, a play that had her teammates jumping off the bench in celebration. She finished with 16 points and was the clear choice for the MVP award after one of the most electric performances of the showcase.

Madyson has been steadily climbing the charts and now sits at No. 2 in the Class of 2029 rankings. She has become one of the toughest players in the class to contain off the dribble, consistently getting to the basket with confidence and purpose. Her shot selection continues to improve, and with it, her efficiency as a scorer. She plays with good speed in transition, runs the floor well without the ball, and is always a threat in the open court. Defensively, Madyson brings relentless energy, aggressively jumping passing lanes for steals while also making a strong impact on the glass. Her two-way ability and continued development have made her one of the fastest-rising prospects in the state.

Madyson made play after play attacking the basket and elevated her team’s play each time she stepped on the floor. She was absolutely one of the best all around players in the building. Her effort is what separated her as several times she was able to beat everyone down the floor for a score and her ability to attack in the halfcourt set proved to be a problem for defenses.

Madyson Williams Madyson Williams 5'9" | PG/SG Bishop McNamara | 2029 State MD proved to be a high-level scorer, especially when attacking the rim. In the opening game against JSizzle (FL), she capitalized on transition opportunities created by her team’s defense, finishing through contact on multiple trips down the floor. In the half court, she used her handle to get downhill and consistently pressure the paint. Madyson’s ability to absorb contact and finish makes her a constant scoring threat and player to watch as an up and coming guard.

Maddie is a creative scorer who is comfortable producing at all three levels. She handles the ball with confidence, creates space off the bounce, and can finish inside just as effectively as she can stretch the floor.

Her rhythm surfaced in the third quarter against the nation’s top-ranked team, where she shifted the momentum with timely shot-making. She connected on three of four attempts from beyond the arc and complemented that with two mid-range jumpers, each coming within the flow of the offense.

What stood out most was her ability to adjust in real time. After reading how the defense was closing out and rotating, she diversified her attack rather than settling. That in-game adaptability highlights the depth of her offensive arsenal and her capacity to impact high-level competition.

Despite the huge disparity in the score Madyson was terrific putting up 12 points including several three pointers. She continued her effort on the defensive end with multiple steals while leading her team as a freshman. She has a bright career and we are looking forward to seeing her this summer.

Ryken has found something special with Madyson. She is a freshman but nothing in her game says freshman. She keeps the ball on the string and sees the entire floor. She is a really good three point shooter and knocked down multiple shots in each game. She easily gets by defenders with a quick first step and is a good finisher when she gets to the basket. Defensively she is really good on the ball and jumps the passing lanes for steal and transition buckets. She is a key piece for the Knights future of relevancy in the WCAC.
