Sain sent a message loud and clear at the Top 250. She was one of the better all around athletes in the gym. Sain can change direction with ease and gets up high off the ground to go after rebounds. She showed off a fantastic spin move off a dribble drive that resulted in a score and an and 1.
I’ve written a lot about Pobocik’s defense as of late. Well, it was stellar again. She stalks the ball looking for an opportunity to jump a pass and create a turnover. Pobocik also showed a level of grit and toughness over the weekend that impressed onlookers.
Hodo grabbed my attention early in the event. Her strength under the glass was difficult for opponents to deal with. Quite frankly, she could muscle her way to rebounds. Hodo used that power and strong hands to secure pretty much every rebound within her grasp.

Hartwick is a classic example of a really good lead guard. It all starts with her handles. She can break pressure off the bounce and rarely turns it over. I was very impressed with her ability to attack the lane off the bounce, draw the defense, and dish it off to scorers. Hartwick also fed the post very well at the event.

Maida just looks like a basketball player when she’s on the floor. She looked like she has a really good understanding of spacing and how to spread the floor. Maida saw lanes and cut to the rim hard looking for the pass. I saw this turn into buckets for her. Her jumper looked smooth from behind the arc as well.
It didn’t take long for Mackey to grab my attention when I hit her teams court. She went downhill and attacked the rim. Mackey made athletic moves and cuts and her movement looked free and unrestricted. I liked how everything went straight to the rim for her.
Farr continued her run of impressive basketball dating back to the Prep Hoops Circuit with PR1DE. Farr was terrific at the David Barns Showcase and we saw it again at the PGH Michigan Top 250. Her leadership, both vocally and in her play, impresses me every time I see it. I really think that Farr could end up as a big time prospect.

Bolton showed up to the Top 250 ready to play. She showed that she’s able to break down her defender off the dribble and get them on her hip. From there, Bolton is able to be a playmaker. She was solid defensively, showing that she could pressure the ball and create turnovers with her quickness.
Resio was as advertised over the weekend. We all know what she can do as a scorer and facilitator on the offensive end. It was her disciplined defense that impressed me the most at the Top 250. Resio was one of the best help defenders that I saw at the event.

Burley has been doing something with her game since the spring. She looked so much more comfortable on the court. Her movement was free and smooth and she appeared very comfortable with the basketball. The growth of her all around game sent a loud message.
