I think this will really help give everyone a better idea of who to watch out for this summer, leading into the season this winter. Enjoy!

There are a lot of works to describe Zaili Benish Zaili Benish 5’5″ | PG Leyton | 2025 State NE and her game but I think the best way to put it would be that she is a shooting guard who is always ready to let it go, no matter where she is located on the floor, wether it be from distant or inside for a mid-range look. To add to that, though she is very good at the catch-and-shoot game, she doesn’t settle for it. She likes to get all the way to the hoop and score in the most efficient way as possible, whenever given the opportunity. As a freshman Benish averaged 21 PPG on the varsity level, this past season she moved that up to 22 PPG while taking her team to the state tournament. Over the next two seasons, if she can keep up this production, there is no way that she doesn’t see some college interest from a few places looking to bring her on board.
#2. Myleigh Weers Myleigh Weers 5'9" | PG Diller-Odell | 2025 State NE – Diller-Odell High School

Myleigh Weers Myleigh Weers 5’9″ | PG Diller-Odell | 2025 State NE is a diverse guard with a quick first step and a strategic handle. She moves effortlessly with the ball in her hands while really shining in transition and on the offensive end of the floor. When you watch Weers compete you see a lot of promise there in her all around ability. She is an elite scorer who can put the ball in at a high rate from all three levels. Along with that she adds an aggressive rebounding ability, disciplined defense, and great leadership skills at the point guard position. During her freshman year she put up some really nice numbers and this past season she surpassed those numbers, putting together an even better season. I’m interested into what the future holds for Weers but I know that whoever gets her, is getting a certified bucket on their roster.
#3. Kena Ailes – Lincoln Christian
I’ve had the chance to write about Kena Ailes once already this spring as a returning leader in another category for the 2025 class but here we go again. Ailes averaged a double-double for her sophomore high school season with 17.2 PPG and 10.5 RPG, while helping lead her team to the state tournament. Ailes has a lot of size and paired with that, a lot of promise. She has length, coordination, good hands, and vision. All things that when you add together, create a recruit that many colleges are going to find interest in. Over this spring/summer Ailes is going to get a good amount of looks from colleges from all levels and all over the country. Something that is much deserved with the work she has been doing in her off seasons in preparation to put herself in a position to be successful these last two high school years, leading into college ball.
#4. Ashley Bauer Ashley Bauer 5'7" | SG Elm Creek | 2025 NE – Elm Creek High School

Ashley Bauer Ashley Bauer 5'7" | SG Elm Creek | 2025 NE
Ashley Bauer Ashley Bauer 5’7″ | SG Elm Creek | 2025 NE isn’t going to kill her opponents with flashy moves or anything like that but just with fundamentals, great balance, and good knowledge of what is going on around her. When you watch Bauer on film you are going to see a hardworking player who does all the little things right, leading to being successful when it comes to the bigger things. She attacks the hoop with intent looking to score or get fouled while always coming to a 2-foot jump stop. On defense she is a ball hawk that gets a lot of steals and looks in transition because of it. The beauty of Bauers game is the simplicity of it. She takes what the defense gives her and that led her to being one of the top scoring guards in the state last year in the 2025 class. That’s something to be proud of. Going forward keep an eye on Bauer as I expect the same production this summer and over the next few season, something that is more then doable.
#5. Abriya Watkins Abriya Watkins CG Omaha Northwest | 2025 NE – Omaha Northwest High School

Omaha Northwest didn’t put together the season last year that they would have necessarily wanted but that didn’t stop some of their players from really shining and putting together some nice, individual campaigns. One of those players being Abriya Watkins Abriya Watkins CG Omaha Northwest | 2025 NE . Watkins put up some solid overall numbers averaging 15.4 PPG, 6 RPG, and 2.5 SPG for her sophomore season. Looking forward I think that Watkins and company is the type of group that can turn the page next year, start fresh, and make a big run. Watkins can score in big waves and they have some talent around her that could really make a difference. They could make some noise coming into the winter next season but only time will tell, until then Watkins is going to keep working and perfecting her craft.
