Hall has the college ready body and the next level game continues to take jumps as I was excited to see her playing with more intensity, like going AFTA everything off the rim. She also is showing improved timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots yet her interior defense has improved, as well as her stepping outside the paint to score. She also is showing that her “hands and footwork” has gotten better as she’s finishing stronger around the basket after contact and when you factor in she’s way above “the magic number” her upside is really good
Vincent has shown she could adapt to whatever role she had to play and from going to that back to the basket player I first caught when she was in middle school, it’s nice to see her dropping the mid to long-range jumper. She’s also attacking the basket off the dribble with either hand, yet her dishing off the dribble has been a big plus. Don’t get it twisted, she battles for the ball off the rim and is scoring after contact which shows her strength. Her defense inside the paint as well as “on the ball” continues to create problems
McDowell continues to show she is deserving of being a national ranked player and her dropping almost 40 from a variety of ways is just part of the reason. She’s long and athletic, which will always be the base and her ability to play all 5 positions effectively in high school make her a “nightmare to defend” when you factor in her size as well as UPS. Those UPS also blocks shots and her being able to handle the ball afterward and go coast to coast to score or dish is nice, so is her ability to elevate over defenders to score in the set attacking or around the basket. Her mid to long-range shooting is also a huge plus
Mitchell passes the eye test off the top because she’s at “the magic number” and is “long and athletic” yet the intangibles that she is already bringing to the table will have a FEAST of next level coaches offering her an opportunity to play at the next level. Her being a #D1Lock was apparent when I first saw her at the Girl’s TABC Showcase yet her “poise under pressure” in her freshman season is something you just can’t teach. She has timing and block, alters and deflects shots but her leaping ability has her grab rebounds on both ends with ease. She finishes strongly and acrobatically at times off the dribble yet her jumper is nice, so is her defense
