Continue ReadingIt’s that time of the year again. It’s AAU Season! This time of the year is always an interesting and excited one. It’s the time where we see new faces in new places, new groups joining together, and a whole lot of action as it pertains to high-level basketball throughout the country.
In this article we highlight a group of players from the ETG Midwest Elite 16U 3SSB team. This group is one that should put together a really nice Spring/Summer season as a whole. They will have every position covered with multiple prospects that can be moved around the floor in any given situation. The tournaments and competition level that this team will face this season is no joke. They are going to have moments of triumph and success but they will also struggle at times. As long as they can come together as a group and play for one another, they will definitely be seeing a lot of success compared to anything else. I’m excited to see what they can put together as a whole but only time will tell.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
Schedule –
TBD – The program as a whole is still figuring out their schedule for the AAU season, so it is not finalized at this time. If you check back here in a few weeks or look at their social media page, it will be updated but as of now, that’s where we stand.
Halle Dolliver Halle Dolliver 5’10” | CG Malcolm | 2026 State NE has been a constant on the high school floor throughout the State of Nebraska the past two seasons. She has shown her worth during every game that she has suited up with Malcolm High School and I expect more of the same with this group moving into AAU season. Dolliver is a mix between a Forward and Combo Guard from everything that I have seen. She is a dominant force inside the paint with coordination, balance, and physicality but she also can spread the floor and compete from the outside-in. Within this group, Dolliver will be their starting force in the middle at the 4 position. She is going to be able to play off of how these guards can create and I’m sure they will all thrive because of that.
Highlights
At the moment Ava Markowski Ava Markowski 5’11” | PF Pius X | 2026 NE falls into the middle for me, between a Combo Guard and Small Forward. She has demonstrated the ability to be able to knock down shots from deep but she also has some natural length to her. More times than not, she is making a play on the defensive side of the ball with something like a tip or block and that leads into her success on the other side of the floor. She displays that she is dominant in everything she does, while being someone that her teammates can look up to both as an emotional and vocal presence in the locker room. Within this specific group, Markowski is going to play more of a 3-4 position if I’m not mistaken. She will be able to someone who can score close up near the basket or she can space the floor with her shooting ability. Everyone on this team is going to have to find their niche within this program and that may change with who is on the floor at any given moment. Just cause of you have a job with one starting five, doesn’t mean you’ll have that same job when others come onto the floor so it’s important to know your own abilities. Something I’m not too worried about with Markowski. She is versatile in a lot of ways and I’m sure that will be on full display this AAU season.
One of the prospects on this team coming out of the State of Iowa, comes to us in the form of Shooting Guard – Hudsyn Ranschau. Ranschau is a knock down, lights out shooter that is putting her game together more and more every time that I see her lace up her kicks. She has a nice handle with solid knowledge of situational basketball. As long as she is put into a position to succeed, she is going to make the most of her opportunities. This is someone to know out of the midwest for a couple of reasons. The most important being because she can really hoop and she seems to eat, breathe, and sleep basketball. Anyone like that can make their mark in any program they are suiting up with and that’s quite easy to see.

Another fantastic Shooting Guard and someone that happens to be the twin sister of Hudsyn Ranschau is Haevyn Ranschau. Haevyn is the spitting imagine of her sister. She can obviously shoot the cover off of the basketball at an Elite rate, while she is still putting her complete game together but she also is very good at communicating with those around her and listening to the instruction of her coaches. She demostrates a quick first step and active hands, usually leading to a lot of success in one way or another for her team. This upcoming high school season, the Ranschau sisters are going to be two prospects that will be tasked with taking over their Varsity program. This opportunity is one that I’m sure they are ready for and they will excel at in the long run but until that times comes, they will keep ballin out for this ETG Midwest squad. Something I’m sure they are both ecstatic about moving forward.

This specific 16U team is LOADED with talented young guards. The type of guards that you can give the ball too and you can tell them to go make a play for their team in any given situation. Another individual that is coming from the Iowa side is Sydney Doeschot of Kingsley-Pierson High School. Doeschot is a fast moving Point Guard, that is smooth in her movements. She is at her best when she has the ball in her hands, coming down the floor and running her team’s offense. I don’t expect that to change any time soon but I am interested in seeing where she fits within this lineup. The only knock I have ever had against Doeschot in the past is her natural size. It’s nothing personal but it’s a reality. Don’t get it twisted, she can produce at a HIGH rate and she will be a collegiate level player at the end of her high school career but if she was 4-5 inches taller, we are talking about a starting Power-5 player as a Freshman at the next level. This isn’t something she should worry about or even think about realistically but this just speaks to how great she truly is right now. Every time I see her compete, she is fantastic. Plain and Simple. That’s not going to change now or in the future so whoever needs an Elite PG to lead their college team, step right up because this is one that you are going to regret not taking a chance on once she is committed to the next level.
Highlights
Another very talented Guard joining this program for a second straight season out of the State of Kansas is Alexis Hecht. Hecht was one her high school team’s starting Varsity Guard’s this past season and she absolutely killed it. Her team may have come up just short of a State Title but that doesn’t change the fact that she was a vital factor to her team’s success as a scorer and playmaker. From everything I have seen on film, Hecht is Elite in her scoring ability with a shifty dribble and smart head on her shoulders. She understands the situation her team is always in, while being about to navigate to the bucket in a number of different ways. A question I love to ask prospects as an evaluator is; When your best ability is cut off or taken away, what else can you bring to the table? I think that Hecht has proven time-and-time again that she is never really cut off. If someone takes away a lane or an ability of hers, she simply adapts to the second or third thing she does best and it always seems to yield some impressive results. Again, this team is LOADED with talent at the Guard position. So much so that I’m not too sure who you even start at some spots. I’m assuming it’s been a battle in practice to figure all that out but as an individual, there is a lot to love about this prospect right here. That is for sure.
Highlights
Emerson Timm Emerson Timm 5’6″ | PG Arlington | 2026 State NE joins up with this group for another season, following a very successful Spring/Summer campaign a year ago. Timm is more of your in-control, set up the offense type Point Guard. She has the ability to score at Will most of the time and she can knock down three pointers on rotation but I truly think she is at her best while helping others score the rock. She can usually beat any initial defender standing in her way and get into the teeth of the defense. From there, anything is fair game. She may hit you with a floater, a fancy finish at the rim, or a nasty assist to a fellow teammate. This past high school season she did a great job of making her presence felt. Every game she stuffed the stat book with her Scoring, Assisting, Rebounding, and Steals. If that was any indication of how this next few months is going to go then this will be a really fun season for anyone on this roster.
The second big time enforce in the middle for this squad will be Addison Medeck Addison Medeck 6’2″ | PF Papillion LV South | 2027 NE of PLVS High School in Nebraska. Medeck is listed at 6’2 and that is no mistake. She is truly around that size, while being a solid prospect inside the middle of the lane for whatever team she is playing with. The 2027 Class in Nebraska won’t have actual number rankings until the update this fall, prior to the high school year getting underway but when that does happen, Medeck will be a Top 10 player listed, if not Top 5 after what she could put together this AAU season. This will by far be the tallest and most physically dominate prospect on this 16U team. As long as she can continue to do on the travel court, what she did on the high school floor this past Winter, she is going to FEAST in the middle. She will have a plethora of talented PG’s who can create, several knock down Shooting Guards that are lethal from any distance, and some versatile Forwards. As long as she is set up for 1v1 situations, while being relentless on the boards how she usually is, she is going to have one of her best seasons on a basketball court to date. She has every intangible to be one of the best on this team, she just needs to go out and make it happen now.
While knowing the rest of the prospects on this team, one of their more versatile players is going to be SG/SF, Eleanor Griffin Eleanor Griffin PG Lincoln Southwest | 2026 NE of Lincoln Southwest High School. Griffin is going to be one of the longer individuals that this group has so I wouldn’t be shocked if she was starting at their 3 position, even though she is a dead-eye shooter from behind the three point line. She is a lefty, that has demonstrated the ability to become unconscious from behind the arc but she has also demonstrated that she can also take her defender off of the dribble and finish in the paint. Within this program and on this team, her versatility is going to be a huge factor in their success. If they have a game where they aren’t making as many shots from deep as they would like, they are going to look at their Forwards/Center to help them out. This would be a situation where you could move Griffin around and keep the defense guessing or you could throw her in the post to dominate a smaller matchup. Defensively, this verisilty works in her favor once again. She is lengthy and quick enough to stay on a smaller guard or she can play big and get a ton of tips/deflections near the rim against someone who may have some size on her. Either way, Griffin has the potential to be very good when the dust settles. If she continues to play to her strengths, she is going to continue to shine.
