Without basketball this would be a great event to support, with basketball added it’s a great event that I look forward to every year. I was able to watch quite a few games over several gyms and was impressed by the amount of talent on hand. Here are some more of the top players that I viewed over the weekend.
Brooklyn is a quick point guard with all of the tools for the next level. She as a nice looking shot and is a very intense on ball defender. She can overwhelm less talented guards with her speed alone, it will be interesting to see how good she can really get.
Taylor is pure speed with a tremendous handle. She had the attention of Team Takeover before the game started as they face guarded her from the tip. With that said Taylor still had a masterful showing using her deep threes to open the lane for her drives.
Highlights
Surprisingly the two 8th graders (Taylor & Mckenzie) were the best two players on the floor. McKenzie scored 10 of the first 12 points for Team Takeover and at one point it looked like whatever left her hand was going in. Physically she was one of the strongest players on the floor and she attacks the basket really well.

Amaiya has a nice frame and uses it well to bump off of defenders. She is physical and finishes well after contact. Despite her strength inside she can stretch the floor with a soft touch from three.

Geornae’s size inside is tough to deal with. Players seemed to bounce off of her when she is in the paint. She consistently got to the line due to her physicality and strength.
