The annual 695Hoops holiday tournament went down over two days with 72 teams competing in different divisions. Quite a bit of local talent was on display as 71 of the teams were from Maryland. Here is a look at some of the standout guard players.

Mckenzie Fuller, Annapolis, 2026, Point Guard

Mckenzie was the talk of the tournament as a lot of people were seeing her for the first time. She showed off the ability to score from all three levels and some strong passing ability as well. She was a beast as she beat all kinds of traps and double teams to lead Annapolis to the Evelyn Lassiter Championship.

[player_tooltip player_id='864319' first='Jaylah' last='King'], Mt. Carmel, 2028, Guard

The freshman sensation added to her growing resume as she copped an MVP award for her two-day performance. She scored in a variety of ways and helped her teammates get easy buckets, but I like the work she put in on defense. Her deflections and steals allowed the team to get some easy points and momentum.

[player_tooltip player_id='1056947' first='London' last='Elliott'], Poly, 2027, Point Guard

London used her speed to overwhelm defenders as she navigated the court and got where she wanted to go. If she wasn't finishing at the rim, she was breaking down the defense and setting her teammates up with drop off passes. She also played excellent on ball defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='788072' first='Kayden' last='McDaniel'], Glenelg Country School, 2027, Guard

Kadyen really showed off her scoring prowess over the two-day event. She was particularly strong in the double overtime classic against Hammond. She's a capable shooter from long range, but she did major damage by penetrating and finishing at the rim or drawing fouls. Excellent showing for the dangerous and versatile guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='1121143' first='Madison' last='Byrd'], Western, 2026, Guard

Madison continued what has been a strong season for her so far. She is playing with a lot of confidence and having big games scoring the ball. She's been a spark on both ends of the court and has stepped into a leadership role for the Doves. I thought she had an exceptional two days.
