It's challenging to isolate one player from the Mystics 2028-S40 team because everyone contributes to the group's success. Therefore, I've decided to include every member of the team in this write-up. Last spring, they blew me away at the MBA Mother's Day Classic. Their playing style and dominance inspired me to write a full team review, which is still one of my all-time favorite articles and days as a scout. Read Here

Mystics 2028-S40 puts on a clinic for how dribble drive motion, unselfish passing, transition offense, all-out team defense, energy, competitiveness, and loud communication should look on the basketball court. Their group works as a cohesive unit, and everyone shines as a result. They pushed Mystics 2027-P24 to their limits and are, in my mind, the best 2028 team in the state, until proven otherwise (I'll happily attend the scrimmage). Mystics 2028-S40 plays a college brand of basketball, and when you watch them play, that becomes crystal clear. To offer some perspective, most girls on this squad were all-conference on their high school teams as a freshman, and all of their high school teams won 15 games or more. With that in mind, here are the prospects!

Ellee is the top-ranked center in the 2028 class, and she proved it with a dominant First Team All-Conference freshman season in the SVL. She gave Midland an advantage inside that helped them secure the league title in a phenomenal first season on Varsity and helped Midland win the league title. At Mystics Get Ready, Ellee actively secured offensive rebounds, scored put-backs, blocked shots, and finished off two feet. She has excellent touch around the rim for Mystics 2028-S40.

Layla sprouted a few inches, and her game blossomed on the court for Dexter as a freshman. She received SEC-Red First Team honors and helped the Dreds win a district title. At Mystics Get Ready, Layla was locked in from downtown, burying many triples with a smooth stroke. She pushes the ball with great pace in transition, has excellent passing instincts, and drives with a burst downhill to score layups for Mystics 2028-S40.

Emersen set a single-game school record for 3s with eight during a win against Anchor Bay. She came through in a big moment with 13 points in the fourth quarter to help Regina secure their 5th straight district title. Emersen was one of two freshmen to earn CHSL All-Catholic honors. At Mystics Get Ready, Emersen was a sniper, hitting her target with several 3-pointers off a balanced catch and release. Emersen kicked the ball for assists to open teammates and finished full-speed layups at the rim for Mystics 2028-S40

Jayla was an exciting freshman guard to watch at Heritage this season. She took the league by storm, immediately becoming one of the most dangerous scorers and a leader for the Hawks. Jayla earned SVL First Team All-Conference honors and was our Feb. 2nd-8th Player of the Week. Jayla set a single-game school record with an eye-popping 34 points vs. Carman-Ainsworth. At Mystics Get Ready, Jayla made smart passes, converted layups off two feet, and buried many triples for Mystics 2028-S40.

Kaiya is a scrappy point guard whose energy and impact helped Midland win the league title. She earned SVL First Team All-Conference honors and was an excellent facilitator at Mystics Get Ready. She penetrated gaps with her dribble, caused the defense to collapse, and dished strong passes to open teammates. Kaiya makes the right play, increases the tempo, knows where the ball should go, and causes havoc with her defensive pressure. Her intensity, enthusiasm, and communication are a great example for others to follow. Kaiya scored a soft floater off the dribble and is a threat from the perimeter for Mystics 2028-S40.

Ella was a top performer at our Freshman showcase, and she immediately made an impact for a Midland squad that won the SVL title. Ella does everything on the court to help her team succeed and had a solid day at the Get Ready tourney for Mystics 2028-S40. She's long and handles the ball comfortably with both hands--creating space from defenders with a variety of crossover combinations. Ella moves to open space very well, makes quick decisions, and catches the ball with balance, ready to shoot. She drained a smooth corner 3, snagged rebounds, dished assists, and was active on defense.

Emma stepped into a contributing role immediately for Midland and helped the Chemics win the SVL title. Emma was ruthless, aggressive, competitive, and notably impactful on both ends for Mystics 2028-S40 at the Get Ready tournament. Her intensity and passion on the court are visible strengths. Emma constantly disrupted ball-handlers and caused turnovers with her ball pressure. She split gaps with her quick dribbles to score several layups with both hands and finished very well off two feet. Emma deflected passes in the full-court press and had an all-around impressive day on Saturday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1231269' first='Madison' last=''] played up with Mystics 2027-S40 last season, and she's a perfect addition to the Mystics 2028-S40 team this spring. [player_tooltip player_id='1231269' first='Madison' last=''] helped Utica Eisenhower earn a district title and gained MAC All-Conference recognition in the process. At the Mystics Get Ready tourney, she dropped in floaters with finesse in the paint and made intelligent extra passes to open teammates. [player_tooltip player_id='1231269' first='Madison' last=''] swiped the ball away on defense and finished the play with a layup. She shoots with accuracy off the dribble and uses shifty dribble combinations to create space from defenders. Agent 0 is going to shine with this team on the circuit.
